Continental highlights innovations for smarter and safer cities at CES 2019

At CES 2019, Continental is demonstrating its solutions and key technologies for future cities around the theme ‘Mobility at your service. Freedom to Live’.

“Intelligent mobility is an essential pillar of the smart city. The number of connected devices exceeds the world’s population today, facilitating real-time exchange of information between vehicles, infrastructure and people,” said Helmut Matschi, member of the Continental Executive Board and head of the Interior Division.

“At CES 2019, Continental will demonstrate solutions that foster mobility intelligence, ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents and pollution, addressing the most critical challenges of urban mobility,” he added.

Naver Labs to showcase robotics and artificial intelligence technologies at CES

Naver Labs is planning the global debut and demonstrations of the artificial intelligence, robotics, computer-aided vision, mapping and other core technologies of its “breakthrough xDM platform” at CES and the Pepcom Digital Experience.

Magna to showcase electrification, autonomy and smart mobility at CES 2019

Magna is heading to CES 2019 in Las Vegas on 8-11 January 2019 with an all-new exhibit showcasing the company’s future vision of how electrification, autonomy and smart mobility intersect.

From a full range of electrified powertrain configurations to demonstrating how flexible cabin space will better meet both driver and passenger needs, the ‘Welcome to Mobility’ booth shows Magna’s future destination, where ‘Mobility is Technology’.

Reconfigurable seating will play a large role in smart mobility solutions of the future.

Omron to showcase Forpheus in company’s first appearance at CES

Omron will exhibit at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show for the first time.

Omron specialises in developing technologies in the categories of sensing, control, robotics and artificial intelligence, many examples of which will be on display at CES.

Startup company launches DoBot ‘industrial’ robot at CES

lockA Chinese startup company has demonstrated what it calls the “first industrial robotic arm for small business”, and has raised more than $400,000 on Kickstarter. 

The company describes the “DoBot M1” as a “professional SCARA based robotic arm” suitable for desktop use by small businesses, makers and hobbyists. Dobot was unveiled at CES in Las Vegas.

BMW demonstrates new concepts for autonomous and electric cars at CES

lockBMW has showcased some of its concepts, ideas and developments for autonomous and electric cars at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. 

The company says the projects incorporate “technically revolutionary innovations in automated driving, intelligent connectivity and interior design”.

This year’s Consumer Electronics Show is all set to be the biggest one yet for robotics. 

With recent advances in artificial intelligence, combined with newly affordable sensors and other materials required to make the machines, robots are no longer going to be a rarity at any tech event.

The Consumer Electronics Show will be on soon. January 5-8, in Las Vegas, US. If you’re one of the lucky people going along, send us a picture or note about your highlights of the event. 

As a preview to the show, we find out from Infineon, one of the leading chipmakers for the auto market, what their view of the highlights will be, not just at CES, but also for the year ahead.
