Vecna Robotics raises additional $14.5 million and appoints new CEO

Vecna Robotics, a specialist in robotic material handling, has raised $14.5 million in additional funding from existing investors.

Proceeds of the funding round are earmarked to accelerate technology and product enhancements to address the automation needs of operators in automotive, general manufacturing, and high-volume warehousing.

AutoStore and Bastian Solutions expand automated fulfillment at Puma facility

AutoStore and systems integrator Bastian Solutions have once again partnered with global sports brand Puma.

The three companies jointly aannounced an expansion of their strategic collaboration by implementing the AutoStore system at a new distribution center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Cyngn reaches agreement to sell ‘multiple’ DriveMod Tuggers to major automotive supplier

Cyngn says it has received a signed Letter of Intent (LOI) from “a major automotive supplier to sell and deploy multiple DriveMod Tuggers in early 2025”.

This achievement demonstrates Cyngn’s continued traction with its Enterprise Autonomy Suite automation solutions for heavy manufacturing industries. Just last week, Cyngn announced a new contract with a different automotive manufacturing customer.

The automotive supplier – who remains unnamed due to confidentiality – will utilize the DriveMod Tuggers to streamline intra-facility logistics. The global automotive supplier has several similar distribution facilities as well as manufacturing facilities in North America alone. Exotec installs 37 robots to process first orders at Auchan Luxembourg warehouse

Auchan has become the first retailer in Luxembourg to use Exotec’s Skypod system in its Dudelange warehouse.

To protect their leading position in Luxembourg, Auchan Retail Luxembourg has partnered with Exotec, an innovative developer and manufacturer of robotic systems for warehouse automation in 2023.

THG Fulfil installs Geek+ robots to ‘boost warehouse efficiency’

THG Fulfil, THG Ingenuity’s fulfilment and courier management service, has enhanced its warehouse automation capabilities with the addition of a fleet of Geek+ Goods-To-Person robots at its Omega facility in Warrington.

The addition of Geek+ to its repertoire will enable THG Fulfil to improve warehouse performance, enabling faster delivery times and higher customer retention as artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technologies drive significant advancements in warehouse efficiency.

Cyngn unveils new 12,000 lb-capacity tugger for warehouses

Cyngn has unveiled its first complete build of its next-generation 12,000 lb DriveMod Tugger.

The vehicle construction was successfully completed and demonstrated at the facility of its OEM partner, Motrec International.

This key milestone achieves the previously announced upgrade that increases towing capacity from 6,000 lb to 12,000 lb and marks a step forward for integrating Cyngn’s proprietary DriveMod technology with Motrec’s MT-160 tow tractor at scale. Toyota makes strategic investment in Gideon

Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), which includes Toyota Material Handling Group and Toyota Automated Logistics Group, and Gideon, have signed an investment agreement with immediate effect.

The technology company Gideon develops and offers technologies for autonomous mobile robotics (AMR) behaviour and application stack for automating specific processes in warehouse and manufacturing environments.

For TICO, this strategic partnership and investment creates possibilities to simplify automated vehicle systems through standardization, reduced deployment times and increasing flexibility, adaptability and scalability.
