Productive Robots’ newly launched collaborative robot

Productive Robotics has acquired Cobots Guide, the information website about collaborative robotics. 

Productive Robotics says the acquisition will “advance industry relations, education, research, and advocacy in the acceptance and use of collaborative robots”.

Automate 2017 to host US-China robotics forum

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) has organised a joint US-China Robotics Forum to be held April 4 at the Automate 2017 Show and Conference at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The forum will bring together A3’s Robotic Industries Association, the leading North American robotics industry trade organization, and its counterpart, the China Robot Industry Alliance.

According to the World Robotics Report 2016, published by the International Federation of Robotics, China has significantly expanded its leading position as the largest robotics market in the world purchasing 27 per cent of the total supply in 2015.  [Read more…] about Automate 2017 to host US-China robotics forum

Milacron launches new RoboShot SI-20A injection molding unit

Milacron, an industrial technology company serving the plastics processing industry, has launched the Milacron-Fanuc RoboShot SI-20A, a vertically mounted secondary injection unit for RoboShot machines.

The new Fanuc RoboShot SI-20A secondary injection unit was designed and developed by Fanuc in Japan. The SI-20A continues to offer the same high quality, high technology and precision synonymous with the RoboShot name.

The RoboShot SI-20A is a high precision, compact, all electric vertically mounted secondary injection unit equipped with Fanuc’s latest HMI Control and provides high molding performance, high sustainability, and ease of use. ABB and EVgo launch first high-power fast charging station for electric vehicles

EVgo, which claims to operate the US’ largest network of public electric vehicle fast charging stations, has partnered with ABB to launch what the companies claim is the nation’s first high-power fast charging station in Fremont, California, capable of delivering incredibly fast charging speeds.

The High-Power fast charging system, manufactured by ABB, features a maximum charging rate of 150 kW – providing a charge which is three times faster than what is available today.

Zymo and Hamilton Robotics develop new system for genetic testing

Zymo Research and Hamilton Robotics have agreed an ongoing collaboration that teams Zymo Research’s DNA methylation detection and quantitation products and RNA and DNA extraction products with Hamilton’s high-throughput automation platforms.

Zymo Research has already created optimized methods for microbiomics and RNA isolation for use on Hamilton’s automated liquid handling workstations, including a timesaving and robust automated method for non-biased extraction of DNA and RNA.

IBM and Bosch are to cooperate in the area of Internet of Things and industry 4.0.

The aim of the partnership is to provide customers with software-based services of the Bosch IoT Suite via the open standards-based platforms IBM Bluemix and IBM Watson IoT platform.

Nvidia developing self-driving technology with truckmaker Paccar

Nvidia is working with Paccar, a truck manufacturer, on developing solutions for autonomous vehicles. (See video below.)

The collaboration was shared by Nvidia founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang during his keynote at the Bosch Connected World conference in Berlin.

Separately, he provided details of Nvidia’s partnership with Bosch, the world’s largest automotive supplier, on self-driving car technology.

Nvidia and Bosch launch artificially intelligent self-driving car computer

One of the world’s largest automotive suppliers, Bosch, provided a massive stage today for Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang to showcase its new artificial intelligence platform for self-driving cars.

Speaking in the heart of Berlin to several thousand attendees at Bosch Connected World — an annual conference dedicated to the Internet of Things — Huang detailed how deep learning is fueling an AI revolution in the auto industry.

Kuka and VIP launch new system to teach industrial robots without programming

All Kuka robots can now be “easily and intuitively” guided by hand in the workspace using a new navigation system developed by Very Important Product. 

The VIP Navigator was developed in partnership with Kuka.

VIP is a special-machine engineering expert and is now offering what the companies call the ready-to-use package, “ready2_pilot”, through its Navigator product.
