Kodiak unveils industry-first semi-truck designed for scaled driverless operation

Kodiak Robotics, a self-driving trucking company, has introduced what it says is “the world’s first driverless-ready semi-truck designed for scaled deployment”.

It is equipped with all the necessary redundant safety-critical hardware, including braking, steering and sensors, as well as the software required for driverless operations at scale.

Kodiak’s sixth-generation truck further enhances the overall reliability of the technology by building on Kodiak’s five years of real-world testing that includes 5,000 loads carried over more than 2.5 million miles. May Mobility launches first driverless transit service in Arizona

May Mobility, a developer of autonomous vehicle technology, has launched the company’s first driverless service for riders on public roads in Sun City, Arizona.

May Mobility’s rider-only vehicles, which leverage its proprietary Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology, will operate daily during the week without an operator sitting in the driver’s seat.

Einride partners with Kaufland to open e-charging park at Möckmühl Logistics Center

Kaufland, a German supermarket chain, is electrifying its freight operations, starting with a pioneering project at the Möckmühl logistics site with the opening of its first charging park.

The facility boasts eight chargers, each with a separate lane for an electric tractor unit, including an electrically powered refrigerated trailer. This project stands as one of the largest in Germany. The columns consist of DC charging stations with an output of up to 350 kW, enabling rapid charging.

As part of its strategic partnership with Einride, a provider of intelligent solutions for digital, electric, and autonomous freight transportation, Kaufland will deploy large e-trucks for store deliveries. Clevon autonomous vehicle delivers and collects linen from tourist resort

The face of holiday park services in the Netherlands is changing as visitors at Landal GreenParks now find a robot welcoming them among the staff.

Since joining the team in November, Clevon’s delivery robot has supported the parks team by delivering and collecting linen to and from the recreation homes in the holiday park.

Hyundai to manufacture robotaxi in Singapore

Hyundai and Motional – a specialist developer of autonomous vehicle technology – have opened the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) and announce that Hyundai and Motional’s jointly developed all-electric IONIQ 5 robotaxi will be manufactured at HMGICS.

The first production-ready IONIQ 5 robotaxis will be deployed as part of Motional’s commercial services in the US, starting in 2024.
