Tennant invests $32 million in Brain Corp

Tennant Company, a manufacturer of autonomous floor cleaning robots, and Brain Corp, a developer of software for floor cleaning robots, have jointly announced an exclusive technology agreement to accelerate the development and adoption of the next generation of robots in the floor cleaning industry.

Czech retailer’s robots clean 20 million square metres

Albert, said to be one of the Czech Republic’s largest retail brands, says its fleet of autonomous mobile robots have officially cleaned over 20 million square metres (215 million square feet), completing over 92,000 cleaning routes.

The industrial cleaning robots were implemented across Albert’s Czech Republic hypermarkets and two distribution centres. During 2023, Albert says it will “almost double” the number of stores with robot deployments for the robots.

Building services contractors are strengthening their cleaning capabilities in the retail sector, among others, with ever-improving robotics technology.

At a time when hygiene, efficiency and the smart use of labour have never been more important in the building services space, the case for robotic cleaning machines is clear.

Robotic floor scrubbers, in particular, are increasingly in demand. Widely used in American retail chains such as Walmart, there is growing interest in Australia for the autonomous solutions in shopping centres, commercial offices and industrial sites.

“We’re experiencing a lot of interest from the retail space, especially,” says Dave Miller, national head of strategic accounts at Tennant. “Robotics had a foray into the Australian market about four years ago, but the machines weren’t where they needed to be. Tennant launches ‘industry’s first’ robotic floor scrubber for large spaces

Tennant Company, a company which designs and manufactures industrial cleaning systems, is launching its newest and largest autonomous floor cleaning machine, the T16AMR Robotic Floor Scrubber.

This industrial-grade autonomous scrubber is “ideal for larger facilities”, says the company, adding that it is the first of its kind.

Featuring a wider scrub path and higher tank capacity, it allows for consistent, efficient cleaning while reducing total cost of ownership. Denver schools bring in robots to clean floors

Brain Corp, a developer of software for robots, says that Denver Public Schools, one of the nation’s largest school districts, has selected BrainOS-powered robotics scrubbers, manufactured by Tennant Company, to enhance cleanliness and sanitation at some of its more than 200 schools.

Denver Public Schools made the decision to invest in a large fleet of self-driving floor cleaners to give its facility management employees increased bandwidth to work on other higher-value tasks, such as cleaning between classes and other in-depth cleaning. The machines will be deployed this summer at various high schools in the 90,000-student district.

Rich Archuletta, director of facility operations at Denver Public Schools, says: “These new autonomous floor cleaners are a critical technology investment that will help us enhance cleanliness at 14 of our largest buildings, mainly our 10 comprehensive high schools. Tennant to launch autonomous floor cleaning machines

Tennant Company will launch its first autonomous floor care machine capable of operating in complex, real-world environments without direct operator control.

The first Tennant autonomous solution is expected to be available in North America on the T7 floor scrubber in 2018 with further expansion into global markets and additional models to follow.

Tennant, a cleaning products and solutions company, recently formed a relationship with Brain Corp, an artificial intelligence (A.I.) company specializing in technology for autonomous robots.
