Hello Robot has received a Phase IIB Small Business Innovation Research grant from the National Institute on Aging, part of the National Institutes of Health, to advance the use of its Stretch mobile manipulator robot in supporting older adults with mild cognitive impairment and early Alzheimer’s dementia.
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is Hello Robot’s research partner on this project.
The project, titled “Stretching their Reach: Robotic Support for Older Individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment and Early Alzheimer’s Dementia”, will explore how Stretch can assist older adults, family care partners, and professional care staff across three key areas: cognitive assistance, social engagement, and safety management.
