ABB robots help tackle Covid by automating testing, research and diagnostics

February 6, 2023 by Mark Allinson

ABB Robotics has developed an automated neutralizing antibody testing system with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) that is the most effective means of determining an individual’s immunity to various strains of Covid.

Developed by ABB Robotics, Life Sciences and Healthcare Lab, located at the Texas Medical Center Campus in Houston, Texas, the system dramatically increases the number of neutralizing antibody tests performed, from 15 to over 1,000 daily.

With a greater number of people assessed for immunity against the different strains of the Covid virus, automating the testing will help UTMB researchers gain a greater understanding of the effectiveness of Covid vaccines. Mitsubishi Electric Automation releases new 3D simulator software

February 6, 2023 by David Edwards

Mitsubishi Electric Automation has released its MELSOFT Gemini 3D Simulator Software to allow users to expedite the design and construction of manufacturing projects as they introduce new automation components to their facility.

By connecting to a variety of software and factory devices, Gemini provides visualization, simulation, and the streamlining of work processes.

Gemini operates using a PC-based 3D digital space and connects directly to factory devices without having to go through an OPC server. This enables 3D data to be updated in digital spaces approximately 12 times faster than OPC environments. [Read more…] about Mitsubishi Electric Automation releases new 3D simulator software
