SpartanNash introduces ‘retail innovation’ with in-store robot from Simbe

Food solutions company SpartanNash has agreed plans to implement Simbe Robotics’ autonomous inventory robot Tally in 60 additional company-operated stores across the Midwest USA.

This opportunity to generate actionable, real-time inventory insights represents SpartanNash’s continued investment in technology to enhance the store guest and Associate experiences.

Simbe expands store intelligence solution to support large format retail environments

Simbe, a provider of retail store robotics and automation solutions, has launched what it says is “the industry’s first intelligence platform for large format retail environments”.

After a successful launch with BJ’s Wholesale Club, Simbe is now making its Store Intelligence solution available to the wider market.

Simbe Robotics partners with Fast Radius to build new Tally robot

Fast Radius, a cloud manufacturing and digital supply chain company, is partnering with Simbe Robotics to manufacture components critical to the function and aesthetics of Simbe’s inventory robot, Tally 3.

Simbe says it has “reimagined the possibilities of automation” to create new efficiencies in retail stores and selected Fast Radius’ Cloud Manufacturing Platform because of its ability to bypass current supply chain disruptions through flexible production.

Simbe unveils new version of its shop inventory robot

Simbe Robotics, a provider of retail service robots, has launched Tally 3.0 – the latest design iteration of its autonomous inventory robot, Tally.

Simbe says its “unique, human-centered approach to design” has set Tally apart from competitors since its initial debut in 2015.

Simbe Robotics raises $26 million in Series A funding round

Simbe Robotics, which specializes in robotics and artificial intelligence for retail, has completed two separate funding deals.

One was a Series A equity financing round, and the other was an inventory financing agreement with SoftBank Robotics.

Simbe Robotics adds RFID and machine learning capabilities to Tally robot

Simbe Robotics has integrated Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Machine Learning technology to enable its autonomous inventory robot, Tally, to capture in-store data on all RFID-tagged merchandise, from apparel to electronics, sporting goods to home decor.

In addition to its pre-existing computer vision abilities, Tally now captures over 700 RFID product tags per second with higher than 99% accuracy.

This frees shop workers from using handheld scanning devices and provides retailers with real-time insight into product availability and placement.

Schnucks grocery stores give Tally the robot some work to do checking the shelves

A mobile robot called Tally has got a job at Schnucks grocery stores, where it will wander round the aisles and make mental notes of what products are running low on stock and checking prices. 

Developed by Simbe Robotics, Tally is said to perform the tasks humans might find boring and time-consuming. It can do this while customers are shopping or after the stores close.

Simbe claims Tally is the “world’s first fully autonomous robotic shelf auditing and analytics solution for the retail industry”, and suggests the technology could save some of the $450 billion retailers lose annually through inefficiencies which Tally can help resolve.  [Read more…] about Schnucks grocery stores give Tally the robot some work to do checking the shelves
