HomeBase USA pilots Simbe’s shelf-scanning robot at two stores

HomeBase USA, one of America’s largest home improvement retailers, has introduced Simbe Robotics’s Store Intelligence platform – powered by the world’s first autonomous shelf-scanning robot, Tally – to two locations in Copperas Cove, Texas and Laramie, Wyoming.

The Laramie store introduction marks the first Tally deployment in Wyoming.

Simbe Robotics and DeCicco & Sons launch strategic partnership at new flagship store

Simbe Robotics, a specialist in retail shelf digitization, has agreed a strategic partnership with DeCicco & Sons, one of New York’s most respected family-owned grocery chains. 

The partnership brings Simbe’s Store Intelligence platform to DeCicco’s flagship Sleepy Hollow location, and additional stores in Eastchester and Larchmont.

Simbe Robotics installs inventory robot Tally in Decathlon store

Simbe Robotics has installed its inventory robot – Tally – in a Decathlon store in San Francisco, in the US. Tally is claimed by Simbe to be “the world’s first fully-autonomous inventory robot”.

The installation marks the start of a formal partnership between Simbe Robotics and Decathlon USA, which is said to be the world’s largest sports retailer.

Schnuck to expand integration of Simbe Robotics’ shelf-auditing robot to ‘at least 15 stores’

Schnuck Markets and Simbe Robotics have agreed to expand the integration of Tally, the autonomous shelf-scanning robot, to at least 15 select Schnucks’ stores.

Schnucks and Simbe kicked off a pilot in July 2017, when Tally began capturing deeper, real-time insights into on-shelf operations in three Schnucks locations.

Softbank and Simbe partner to promote retail robot

SoftBank Robotics America (SBRA) and Simbe Robotics have announced a global partnership on retail inventory handling. Simbe Robotics, creator of Tally, the world’s first autonomous shelf auditing and analytics robot, will use SBR’s international reach and operational efficiencies to increase its business globally.

SBR and Simbe aim to expand the use of Tally in Japan, North America and Europe in the near future and more broadly over the coming years.

Tally is claimed to give retailers visibility and insight into the state of store merchandise, with alerts for out-of-stock, low stock, and misplaced items; audited product price tags and promotional execution; autonomous inventory audits; and continuous in-store performance insights for brand and retail service partners.

Wal-Mart using robots to wander around the shelves and scan products

Wal-Mart has hired a number of robots to wander around the aisles of its stores and check if products are in stock and displayed correctly. 

The company is said to be rolling out the robot shopkeeping assistant at 50 locations around the US, according to a report on ArkansasOnline.com.

The robots themselves are from a company called Bossa Nova Robotics, which we previously reported had developed an automated planogram compliance system in partnership with software developer Digimarc.  [Read more…] about Wal-Mart using robots to wander around the shelves and scan products
