Siemens opens ‘one of Europe’s most modern train factories’ in Munich

Siemens is celebrating the opening of its expanded train factory in Munich-Allach, describing it as “one of the most modern train production facilities in Europe” and a key location in Siemens Mobility’s European service network.

Around €250 million has been invested in new buildings, state-of-the-art production facilities, and the expansion of AI-based software solutions since 2023.

Addverb ‘reinvents’ its factory automation development with Siemens Xcelerator

Addverb Technologies, an Indian warehouse automation company, is using software from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to “deliver intelligent automation solutions faster and more efficiently while maintaining high product quality and scale its automation offerings across diverse industries globally”.

Addverb has adopted Siemens’ Teamcenter software for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to streamline product development, ensure data consistency, and enhance cross-functional collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Additionally, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation software from Siemens enables Addverb to virtually design, validate, and optimize entire production systems and logistics processes before building any physical hardware. Siemens completes acquisition of ebm-papst’s industrial drive technology business

Europe’s largest engineering company Siemens has closed its acquisition of ebm-papst‘s industrial drive technology business. In the future, it will be marketed using the name “Mechatronic Systems” at Siemens.

The business has about 650 employees and its portfolio includes intelligent, integrated mechatronic systems in the extra-low voltage protection range, innovative driving systems used in free-moving, driverless transport systems, and other applications.

Siemens and IBM collaborate to bring SysML v2 model-based systems engineering to Siemens Xcelerator

Siemens Digital Industries Software has unveiled Systems Modeler for SysML v2 Standard software, part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, to address the complexity of products that feature mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software components.

Systems Modeler for SysML v2 offers an intuitive, web-based solution that enables engineers to develop smarter, more competitive and more innovative products.

Representing the next milestone in Siemens’ collaboration with IBM to deliver best-in-class model-based systems engineering (MBSE) software, Systems Modeler for SysML v2 is powered by IBM Rhapsody Systems Engineering.

The new software, part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, fully supports the SysML v2 open standard and leverages the two organizations’ decades of systems engineering expertise. Bombardier expands use of Siemens Xcelerator to digitally transform aircraft engineering

Bombardier is deepening its investment in digital transformation by expanding its adoption of Siemens Xcelerator software, aiming to streamline aircraft engineering processes from initial design through to production.

The Canadian aerospace manufacturer has selected Siemens’ NX software for 3D modeling, simulation, and manufacturing, as well as Capital software for electrical systems design.
