Niantic Spatial partners with Coco Robotics to ‘accelerate the future of autonomous delivery’

March 12, 2026 by David Edwards

Niantic Spatial has agreed a strategic partnership with autonomous delivery company Coco Robotics. Niantic Spatial will be a core infrastructure partner for Coco, deploying spatial AI and its Visual Positioning System (VPS) to further enhance the company’s advanced robot delivery fleet.

For Coco, the partnership will build on the “great progress” already made in autonomy and safety by setting a new standard for navigation precision in dynamic and complex urban environments.

In return, Niantic Spatial showcases the role of geospatial AI and its Large Geospatial Model as critical infrastructure for robots navigating the real world. [Read more…] about Niantic Spatial partners with Coco Robotics to ‘accelerate the future of autonomous delivery’

Serve Robotics and White Castle launch autonomous delivery via Uber Eats

March 12, 2026 by David Edwards

Serve Robotics, an autonomous delivery robot provider, and White Castle, which claims to be “America’s first fast-food hamburger chain”, have agreed a partnership to deliver the restaurant’s “Sliders” and “Crave-worthy” menu items via Serve’s autonomous delivery robots on Uber Eats.

Customers ordering White Castle in Serve’s delivery zone may now have their meals arrive in one of Serve’s autonomous sidewalk robots.

The partnership further expands Serve’s presence on the Uber Eats platform, which already offers Serve’s robotic deliveries in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta (including Buckhead), Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, and Alexandria, Virginia, with additional US cities coming soon. DoorDash launches its first autonomous delivery robot in Arizona

October 1, 2025 by David Edwards

DoorDash has unveiled its first commercial autonomous delivery robot, Dot, which the company says is designed to accelerate local commerce by navigating bike lanes, roads, sidewalks, and driveways.

Developed entirely in-house by DoorDash Labs, Dot integrates with the company’s existing marketplace infrastructure and its new Autonomous Delivery Platform. The robot is one-tenth the size of a car, all-electric, and can reach speeds of up to 20 mph.

DoorDash says Dot is engineered for short neighborhood trips, helping reduce congestion and emissions while providing a safer, contact-free delivery option. [Read more…] about DoorDash launches its first autonomous delivery robot in Arizona

Last-mile delivery robots: Navigating sidewalks and urban landscapes

September 26, 2025 by Sam Francis

An update on the progress and challenges of autonomous ground-based delivery robots

Estimates of the size of the global market for robotic and autonomous delivery vary widely, but most analysts agree that the category is growing fast from a relatively small base.

MarketsandMarkets projects the global delivery robots market at about $796 million in 2025, reaching $3.24 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of approximately 32 percent.

Some analysts peg the segment more conservatively – $400 million in 2025 growing to $770 million by 2029 at a CAGR of around 18 percent – illustrating the uncertainty around scale, scope (food v parcel), and definitions (sidewalk v road-going pods). DoorDash and Coco Robotics partner to launch new sidewalk delivery robot

April 12, 2025 by Mark Allinson

DoorDash, a local commerce platform, and Coco Robotics, a food delivery robotics company, have expanded their partnership to offer sidewalk robot delivery for DoorDash customers in select US markets.

This builds on an existing pilot program with Wolt – DoorDash’s international arm – where Coco robots have been making deliveries in Helsinki since earlier this year.

The US rollout is now live in Los Angeles and Chicago, where eligible customers can see the availability of Coco’s fleet of emissions-free sidewalk robots and may have one assigned to their order from nearly 600 participating merchants through the DoorDash app. [Read more…] about DoorDash and Coco Robotics partner to launch new sidewalk delivery robot
