Kollmorgen relocates to new premises in Sweden

Kollmorgen, a manufacturer of motor solutions for the robotics industry, is relocating to new premises in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The move is part of a strategic initiative to meet the future demands for automated guided vehicles and autonomous mobile robots, by expanding the business and increasing the innovation and development capacity.

John Deere opens new ‘automation and autonomy’ innovation hub in Austin, Texas

Deere & Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of agricultural and forestry vehicles, is expanding its US footprint and technology operations with a new office in Austin, Texas.

Deere says the new location enables it to further strengthen its technology capabilities and attract talent interested in solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges – including feeding a growing population.

Jahmy Hindman, Chief Technology Officer at John Deere, says: “Austin is a growing destination for some of the brightest minds in technology. aiMotive opens Munich office

Realtime Robotics opens Japan office

Realtime Robotics, a developer of autonomous motion planning systems for industrial robots, has opened a new office in Japan to meet the growing demand it has experienced in the region. The new office, located in Tokyo, in the Shinagawa area, will be publicly opening on October 1.

Manufacturing, logistics and automotive companies throughout the region have been looking to accelerate their adoption of industrial robotics to enhance productivity and answer labor shortages. Many have turned to Realtime Robotics to help them remove engineering complexity, reduce cycle time, lower expenses and establish greater operational efficiency.

Michigan awards $1.7 million in grants to expand electric vehicle charging network across the state

Drivers of electric vehicles will have more locations to recharge their vehicle’s batteries as they travel across Michigan because of $1.7 million in grants awarded by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).

The EGLE made the funding available for direct current fast chargers located along well-traveled routes. It says this will “make it more convenient for drivers to reach their destinations”.

EGLE says it is committed to the future of mobility through investment in infrastructure that is needed to support EVs and it has identified “optimal charger locations” across Michigan. Promobot puts its humanoid robot to work as a civil servant

Russian robotics company Promobot has put a humanoid robot the company has developed into an office to work as a civil servant.

The office in question is the Multi-Function Center, located in Perm, Russia and generally provides citizens with information about their rights and the services available to them.

Promobot’s humanoid sits at a desk, much like a human employee would, and talks to people who have appointments and need advice. Hyundai Robotics establishes Europe office to expand robot business

Hyundai Robotics has established a new Europe office in Ismaning, Germany.

Germany occupies about 37 percent of the robot demand in Europe and it has an advantageous location because it is close to four countries in Western Europe (Germany, Italy, France, Spain) with an “overwhelming robot demand” compared to other regions.
