RC Mowers robots help maintain two iconic Florida race tracks

Daytona International Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway ground crews have solved labor shortage and safety challenges with the robotic mower manufacturer’s remote-operated machines

RC Mowers, a manufacturer of remote-operated and autonomous robotic mowers, has been contracted to cut some of the most famous banks in racing. 

When the ground crews at Daytona International Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway needed to maintain the areas surrounding their legendary race tracks, they chose RC Mowers.

Representatives of RC Mowers are showcasing their remote-operated mowers and their newly released Autonomous Mowing Robot this week on the Midway at Daytona Speedweeks, including the Beef. Ottonomy releases robot at Rome airport

Ottonomy, a maker of autonomous delivery robots, has launched Ottobot 2.0 at pier A of Terminal 1 at Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), in Italy.

The autonomous delivery project is part of ADR’s long-term strategy, aimed at maintaining the highest levels of service and enhancing passengers’ experience using cutting edge technology and innovation.

ASTM forms new robotics group to develop standards for grasping and manipulation technologies

ASTM International’s committee on robotics, automation, and autonomous systems (F45) has formed a new subcommittee on grasping and manipulation.

This new subcommittee (F45.05) of ASTM (formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials) will develop standards that evaluate performance in several major areas of robotic manipulation.

The first three task groups of the committee will develop standards for performance of grasping type end-effectors, mobile manipulators, and robotic assembly systems, covering their use in both fixed and mobile base systems. Startup company Foamplant launches ‘world’s first sustainable foam’

A startup company called Foamplant, based in the Netherlands, is launching what it claims is “the world’s first and only fully circular, sustainable open cell foam”.

Branded “Moorefoam”, the product will be officially launched at Foam Expo Europe (8-10 November, Stuttgart, Germany).

Patented Moorefoam technology enables circular production in the bedding, furniture, automotive and avionics sectors, says the company. Future Acres to partner with Sun World International and expand advisory board

Future Acres, an agricultural robotics startup, has agreed a partnership with global plant variety breeder and genetics licensor Sun World International to further develop its proprietary technology.

Future Acres’ stated mission is to bring “sustainable agricultural robotics to the farm industry in order to optimize workforce efficiency and safety”.

The collaboration begins with an initial testing and pilot program at Sun World’s International Center for Innovation and will include collaborative commercialization of Future Acres with Sun World’s 2,000 growers farming on 55,000 acres around the world, who could socialize the equipment and technology. Saxony styles itself ‘Robot Valley’ and launches festival

The German region of Saxony is styling itself as “Robot Valley” and has launched a festival to highlight robotics clusters in the cities of Dresden and Chemnitz.

Authorities in the region say that Robot Valley Saxony has established itself as a robotics location “of supra-regional importance”.
