Geek Plus Robotics claims to have installed one of the largest automated warehouses in Asia.

The supplier of autonomous mobile robots co-operated with Yunji, an e-commerce company, to launch robotics-intensive warehouse in Kunshan, China, to establish what it calls a “super-robotic warehouse”.

The facility stores a series of commodity categories including apparel, bags, cosmetics, and similar products. (See video below.) [Read more…] about Geek Plus Robotics integrates ‘one of the largest robotics warehouses’ in Asia

Geek Plus launches ‘world’s first’ interweaving sorting robot for warehouses

June 22, 2018 by Sam Francis

Geek Plus Robotics has launched the latest version of what it claims is “the world’s first interweaving sorting robot” for warehouses, which could be an alternative to conveyor systems.

The robot – called S20 – looks similar to the typical autonomous mobile platforms which have become familiar in roboticised warehouses, but it has a small conveyor belt on top.

In a typical operation, a human warehouse worker could place an item on top of the robot, on the conveyor belt, and then the robot would navigate to the appropriate bin which may be on the other side of the facility, and then place the item in the appropriate bin. (See video below.) [Read more…] about Geek Plus launches ‘world’s first’ interweaving sorting robot for warehouses

Exclusive interview with Lit Fung, Geek Plus Robotics general manager in Hong Kong

It’s probably safe to say that the vast majority of warehouses in the world operate in the traditional way, manually, with some automated technology, such as forklift trucks and conveyors.

A small but growing proportion are either fully or partially roboticised.

Some might not need it, but in most cases, bringing in the robots and introducing the latest computer technologies would very likely lead to increases in efficiency and production.  [Read more…] about From zero to infinity: Exclusive interview with Geek Plus boss
