HRG takes initiative in recruiting talent for robotics development

July 19, 2018 by Mai Tao

hit robot polishing-for-each-product

It might sound strange to some people but some Chinese companies have difficulties finding enough skilled workers for certain jobs.

You might expect that would not affect manufacturing because many jobs in the sector may require minimal training.

But, in fact, many jobs in manufacturing involve complex tasks which often require learning new skills and thorough training.  [Read more…] about HRG takes initiative in recruiting talent for robotics development

The Fraunhofer Institute in Germany is developing what it says will be the “next generation of industrial robots”, which integrate new kinematics for milling, customized, high-precision manufacturing

Manufacturers generally must offer high-quality products at low prices in order to remain competitive.

In a bid to provide the production technologies they will require, three Fraunhofer Institute teams are working together on what they say is “the next generation of industrial robots which will facilitate cost-effective production processes”.

The researchers are focusing on developing a new kinematics for milling lightweight materials, metals, and steels. The aim: achieving a production tolerance of just 0.1 millimeters all over the robot workspace starting with the very first component.  [Read more…] about Fraunhofer developing ‘next generation of industrial robots’

Kawasaki Robotics offers insight into how industrial robots are made

July 16, 2018 by Sam Francis

kawasaki robots

Article by Kawasaki Robotics

How are industrial robots built? In this article, Kawasaki Robotics, one of the world’s largest industrial robot makers, provides a guide on the components and the movement of robot arms.

One of the questions many may ask for obvious reasons is: “Are the structures of robots and humans the same?”

Robots and humans share a common feature. Humans and mechanical robots – as opposite as they may seem, they, in fact, share the same underlying structure of links (bones) and joints.  [Read more…] about Kawasaki Robotics offers insight into how industrial robots are made

Stäubli launches TS2 robot range

July 4, 2018 by Anna

Staubli‘s new TS2 SCARA series, which made its world debut at Automatica, Stäubli is a four-axis machine with  JCS drive technology, said to give ultra-short cycle times and it’s ‘hygiene design’ opens up new possibilities for use in sensitive environments.

Stäubli Robotics director Gerald Vogt said: “We have given our SCARAs a complete makeover. They are now modular in design and, for the first time, incorporate our very own JCS drive technology which has been setting new standards in our six-axis machines.

“This technology is the key to the enormous performance gains of the four-axis TS2. Hollow shaft technology has made possible a unique cleanroom design which makes external cabling a thing of the past.”
