Hypertherm launches new version of Robotmaster software

Hypertherm has launched a new version of its Robotmaster software, claiming it enables process experts to program without robotics or CAD/CAM expertise. (See video below.)

Hypertherm says Robotmaster V7 is a task-based robot programming platform built from scratch on a completely new architecture.

Rockwell Automation is investing $1 billion into product lifecycle management software provider PTC.

PTC and Rockwell Automation say they have entered into a partnership that is expected to accelerate growth for both companies.

IBM and H2O.ai have agreed a strategic global partnership aimed at combining IBM Power Systems and H2O Driverless AI to address the artificial intelligence demands of the enterprise.

This joint solution is ideal for financial services, retail, manufacturing, IoT and healthcare industries.

National Instruments introduces software aimed at simplifying automated test systems

National Instruments, the provider of a software-defined platform that helps accelerate the development and performance of automated test and automated measurement systems, has announced the release of its InstrumentStudio software for NI PXI modular instruments.

InstrumentStudio improves the live, interactive use model for modular instruments and makes debugging while running tests more intuitive, says the company.

Rockwell launches network operations and maintenance software

Rockwell Automation has released new software designed to simplify network operations and maintenance and give  centralised visibility into networked assets.

The new FactoryTalk Network Manager software is designed for monitoring and maintaining a growing number of IoT devices on networks.

It allows monitoring of Allen-Bradley Stratix managed switches, troubleshooting switch issues and configuration of new managed switches from one software interface.

Control room technology provided by Honeywell Process Solutions has helped a waste-to-energy plant become more efficient, according to the company.

Honeywell says the “Experion Orion Console” has helped boost safety, productivity and environmental compliance at flagship incineration site in Finland.

Rockwell Automation claims its new “Micro” computer can reduce the complexity of large, standalone machines.

The new Allen-Bradley Micro870 PLC, the new flagship of the company’s Micro800 family, can be used in place of multiple micro PLCs, adds Rockwell.

Carsharing startup Ridecell closes $30 million new funding round

Ridecell, the platform for carsharing, ridesharing, and autonomous fleet operators, has closed its Series B funding round of $28.61 million.

The investment round was led by Cox Automotive, with participation from return investor Initialized Capital.

OhmniLabs launches ‘first’ open telepresence robotics platform

OhmniLabs, a Silicon Valley-based robotics company, has launched what it claims is “the first open telepresence robotics platform”. 

Called the Ohmni DevKit, the tools are designed to enable faster, cheaper, and easier development of custom robotics applications built on top of telepresence.
