University of Puerto Rico re-accredited by ABET engineering commission

The University of Puerto Rico, UPR-Bayamón, has received prestigious accreditations in its technological programs. 

The University of Puerto Rico in Bayamón, five technological programs of the institution were re-accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Columbia engineers find that a single session of perturbation-based training, using their Tethered Pelvic Assist Device, increased stability of patients during walking while exposed to unexpected perturbations

Some 50,000 people in the US are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease every year.

The American Institute of Neurology estimates there are 1 million people affected with this neurodegenerative disorder, with 60 years as average age of onset.

Company says its new system provides comprehensive control for automated farms, one of the fastest growing segments in aritech

Automated Retailing Systems has unveiled its newest comprehensive control integration for the indoor agriculture market.

AR Systems also announced that it is the exclusive provider of automated control technologies to Grow Pod Solutions, a California-based developer of indoor container-based farms.

Record-breaking revenues projected for the linear motion products market

According to the 2017 edition of the Linear Motion Products Report from IHS Markit, total global revenue from linear motion products is projected to hit a record high of $7.3 billion in 2017.

Demand for linear motion products in the electronics and electronics-assembly industries — particularly for battery manufacturing facilities and improved global economic conditions — have facilitated growth.

Pix unveils autonomous car which also functions as a coffee machine

A company called Pix Moving has launched a new self-driving car which can also serve coffee. 

Pix, a multidisciplinary technology developer specialising in robotics and automation, says the vehicle is of a modular design so it could be reconfigured for a variety of purposes.
