May Mobility launches first driverless transit service in Arizona

May Mobility, a developer of autonomous vehicle technology, has launched the company’s first driverless service for riders on public roads in Sun City, Arizona.

May Mobility’s rider-only vehicles, which leverage its proprietary Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology, will operate daily during the week without an operator sitting in the driver’s seat.

Matternet receives authorization from German Aviation Office to launch drone delivery service in Berlin

Matternet, the developer of an urban drone delivery platform, has received approval from the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA), Germany’s Federal Aviation Office, to operate the Matternet M2 drone delivery platform beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) in the heart of Berlin. 

This marks the beginning of Berlin’s first ever BVLOS drone delivery network.

Labor Berlin, Europe’s largest hospital laboratory, provides diagnostics for 30 hospitals with more than 24,000 beds, including Charité, the largest university hospital in Europe and Vivantes, the largest municipal hospital group in Berlin. Beep launches new management platform for autonomous mobility networks

SoftBank and Symbotic establish new ‘warehouse-as-a-service’ joint venture

SoftBank, the telecommunications group which has wideranging interests in robotics, and Symbotic, a developer of AI-powered automation technology for the supply chain, have established a new joint venture to address the more than $500 billion annual warehouse-as-a-service market opportunity.

The newly created company is called GreenBox Systems LLC.

Concurrently, Symbotic also announced an approximately $7.5 billion new customer contract with GreenBox, who will be the exclusive provider of Symbotic systems in the warehouse-as-a-service market, and will make supply chain services available to customers. Delivery robots company Starship Technologies and mobility app Bolt form new partnership

Starship Technologies, a provider of autonomous delivery services, has agreed a new partnership with Bolt, the first European mobility “super-app”, as the two companies call it.

As the initial first step of the evolving collaboration, Bolt and Starship have signed a commercial partnership opening the door to thousands of robots doing Bolt Food deliveries across multiple countries, starting this year.

This announcement coincides with Starship celebrating another industry first milestone, having become the first company offering autonomous delivery to complete 5 million commercial deliveries around the world.
