Clearpath Robotics launches new version of Husky mobile robot

Clearpath Robotics a global leader in autonomous mobile robots for research and development, has launched Husky A300, the next-generation version of its flagship rugged mobile robotic platform.

Clearpath, which is part of Rockwell Automation, says the new robot offers “superior performance, durability, and flexibility, empowering robotics researchers and innovators to tackle the most complex challenges in demanding environments”.

With key improvements in speed, weather resistance, payload capacity and runtime, Husky A300 is “poised to redefine the possibilities” for robotics research and development, driving forward the next generation of groundbreaking discoveries and applications, adds Clearpath. Rockwell Automation and Microsoft expand industrial automation design collaboration

Rockwell Automation has extended its longstanding relationship with Microsoft to accelerate industrial automation design and development through generative artificial intelligence.

The companies are combining technologies to empower the workforce and accelerate time-to-market for customers building industrial automation systems.

The first outcome of this collaboration will add Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service into FactoryTalk Design Studio to deliver industry-first capabilities accelerating time-to-market for their customers building industrial automation systems. Rockwell Automation completes acquisition of Clearpath Robotics and Otto Motors

Rockwell Automation, which says it is “the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation”, has completed its acquisition of Ontario, Canada-based Clearpath Robotics, a developer of autonomous robotics, including autonomous mobile robots for industrial applications.

The acquisition includes Clearpath Robotics’ namesake research division, a developer autonomous technology for the innovation market, and the industrial division Otto Motors, which provides AMRs, which Rockwell says is “the next frontier in industrial automation and transformation”.

Both divisions will report to Rockwell’s Intelligent Devices operating segment. Financial details do not appear to have been officially disclosed, but media reports say Rockwell may be paying $600 million for the acquisition. Rockwell Automation and Comau partner to showcase robot control solutions at Automation Fair

Since launching their collaboration in 2021, Comau and Rockwell Automation have been jointly working to leverage the power of robotic solutions to help businesses increase the speed of innovation and maximize their manufacturing efficiencies.

Now, Comau will join Rockwell Automation at the 31st annual Automation Fair, November 16-17 in Chicago, Illinois (booth #1135) to showcase the benefits of the full integration of Comau’s articulated robots with the unified robot control platform by Rockwell Automation.

Augmentus expands US presence to meet growing demand for easy Scan and Plan robot programming

Augmentus will be exhibiting at the Rockwell Automation Fair in Chicago on 16-17 November 2022 as part of its ongoing partnership with Rockwell Automation.

Conventional robot programming is highly difficult and heavily fragmented with the use of proprietary programming languages and extensive training being the industry norm.

Rockwell Automation, which claims to be the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, has launched FactoryTalk Design Hub.

FactoryTalk Design Hub is intened to enable industrial organizations to transform their automation design capabilities with a more simplified, productive way to work powered by the cloud.

Fanuc and Rockwell Automation launch robotics and automation apprenticeship programs

Fanuc America and Rockwell Automation have formed a coalition to introduce accelerated work and learn apprenticeship programs designed to “upskill current and future workers for jobs in advanced manufacturing, robotics and automation”.

The coalition includes APT, a Fanuc and Rockwell Automation systems integrator, and NOCTI Business Solutions, which provides independent assessments of occupational standards and validation using recognized International Organization for Standardization (ISO) process validation methods.

Rockwell Automation partners with PTC to add new capabilities to FactoryTalk

Rockwell Automation has added a set of new capabilities for FactoryTalk InnovationSuite, powered by software company PTC to “simplify, scale and accelerate digital transformation for industrial organizations”.

This news follows the recent announcement that the two companies are extending and expanding the scope of their strategic alliance following strong market momentum and widespread industry recognition of InnovationSuite.

Since its original launch in 2018, InnovationSuite has successfully delivered a range of high-value solutions for the world’s largest automotive, consumer packaged goods, healthcare, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals companies across 21 countries.
