Serve Robotics to deliver Shake Shack food with delivery robots using Uber platform

Serve Robotics, an autonomous sidewalk delivery company, and Shake Shack have agreed a partnership to deliver Shake Shack using Serve’s autonomous delivery robots via Uber Eats, the delivery platform of Uber Technologies.

Customers who order from select Shake Shack restaurants in Los Angeles through Uber Eats may receive their order via Serve’s innovative autonomous robots.

The partnership marks another step forward in the expansion of sidewalk robots on Uber Eats, which has been offering Serve’s autonomous deliveries in Los Angeles since 2022, and is poised to lead to future expansion across the US. Starship provides delivery robots to new US colleges and adds new technology

Kenco AutoStore System now live at Jeffersonville, Indiana distribution center

Kenco, a third-party logistics provider, says its installation of a system from AutoStore, a provider of an automated storage and retrieval system, is live at the company’s Jeffersonville, Indiana distribution center.

Designed in conjunction with KPI Solutions, the system is Kenco’s largest AutoStore installation, with 49,000 bins, 130 grid robots, 10 picking ports and four replenishment ports.

Specifically designed to meet the needs of Kenco’s fulfillment customers, the AutoStore ASRS’ cubic layout quadruples storage capacity vs. traditional warehouse racking. The system maximizes existing labor and space, enabling 24/7 fulfillment and covering about a quarter of one facility at the Jeffersonville campus. Volkswagen orders ‘more than 700’ industrial robots from Kuka

Kuka, the industrial robotics and automation specialist, and Volkswagen, one of Germany’s largest automotive groups, have signed a framework agreement for the delivery of more than 700 robots this year and over the next two years.

The robot models, including the Kuka bestseller KR Quantec, will be installed at Volkswagen Navarra in Pamplona, Northern Spain. There they will be used in body-in-white production. Kuka receives order for robotic work cells ‘in the double-digit million range’

Industrial automation specialist Kuka is supplying 23 friction stir welding cells with integrated robots for the production of electric vehicles for an automotive customer.

The industrial automation specialist say it is the largest single order for robotic work cells in this area to date.

The Friction Stir Welding (FSW) cells with various technologies and Kuka KR Fortec robots are integrated into production lines for electric vehicles.

Kuehne+Nagel integrates 50 Libiao autonomous mobile robots into its Châtres, France warehouse

Global logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel has introduced a new robotized order sorting system from Libiao Robotics at its multi-client Châtres warehouse, situated south-west of Paris, France.

The new technology is designed to improve productivity, accommodate high volumes during peak times, develop collaborative technologies to support human resources, and reduce repetitive manual tasks.

Logistics provider Kuehne+Nagel is automating its Châtres logistics centre in the Seine-et-Marne region by deploying collaborative autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) supplied by Chinese company Libiao Robotics.
