ABB opens new $100 million campus in Wisconsin

ABB has started the phased opening of a new $100 million campus in New Berlin, Wisconsin to increase US production capacity of industrial electric drives and service to fully meet Build America Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements.

ABB employees, elected officials, education leaders, and media gathered for a ribbon cutting event to mark the first phase opening of the campus.

Richtech Robotics rings the Nasdaq opening bell

Richtech Robotics, a developer of advanced robotic technologies focused on transforming labor-intensive services in hospitality, healthcare and other sectors currently experiencing unprecedented labor shortages, recently visited the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square and rang the opening bell.

In honor of the occasion, ADAM, the company’s AI-enabled humanoid robot, rings the Opening Bell.

This marks the first time a dual armed robot with vision and speaking capabilities will be participating in the prestigious ceremony, which includes a dedicated pre-bell speech.

Electric Future: Battery production facilities bloom on both sides of the Atlantic

Battery production plants are popping up and blooming on both sides of the Atlantic, with one or two exceptions, such as BritishVolt, which went into administration recently

Viridi Parente, a developer of battery storage technology, has selected Bright Machines to digitally transform the company’s US electric battery manufacturing facility.

Bright Machines Microfactories, the company’s full-stack assembly automation solution, modernizes manufacturing by leveraging data and artificial intelligence, providing Viridi with new capabilities to meet the increasing demands for its zero-carbon emission energy battery solutions.

Viridi manufactures battery energy storage systems on a 42-acre campus in Buffalo, New York. Its efforts have and will continue to lead to significant job creation in the historically disadvantaged East Buffalo community where its facility is situated. Fanuc opens new robotics and automation facility

Fanuc America is planning to open a new 461,000 square-foot North Campus robotics and automation facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The world’s largest industrial robot supplier will hold a grand opening celebration for the new centre later today.

Mobile Industrial Robots opens new office in Germany

Mobile Industrial Robots, a supplier of warehouse automation technologies, has opened a new office in Frankfurt, Germany. 

The company says Germany and the Benelux countries are “very important markets with a huge potential for MiR”, so the opening of its Frankfurt office today is also important.

Škoda opens new $200 million paint shop featuring 66 robots

Škoda Auto has opened a new automotive paint shop at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav, in the Czech Republic, featuring 66 industrial robots configured for applying the paint.

Up to 168,000 car bodies will be coated with paint there each year, taking the plant’s total annual painting capacity up to 812,000 vehicles.

Kia car to feature ‘first’ CVVD engine technology

Hyundai Motor Group, Kia Motors‘ parent company, has developed the world’s first Continuously Variable Valve Duration (CVVD) technology to feature in future Kia vehicles.

The innovation was revealed at Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang alongside the Smartstream G1.6 T-GDi, the first engine to feature the technology.

CVVD is claimed to optimise both engine performance and fuel efficiency while also being eco-friendly.

Brain Corp expands global presence with opening of European headquarters

Located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Brain Corp Europe will serve as a hub for operations, software development, and continuing research and development activities.
