MMI’s Symani robotic surgical system surpasses 500 clinical procedures

Medical Microinstruments Inc, a robotics company dedicated to increasing treatment options and improving clinical outcomes for patients with complex conditions, says its systems have been used in the successful completion of over 500 in-human surgeries with the Symani Surgical System in the European Union.

The Symani Surgical System is a first-of-its kind robotic technology that uniquely addresses the scale and complexities of microsurgery and supermicrosurgery.

It aims to restore quality of life for more patients, accelerate the number of surgeons able to push the boundaries of complex procedures for delicate anatomy, and enable hospitals to expand their open surgical programs. Noah Medical raises $150 million to scale robotics surgery solutions

Medical robotics innovator Noah Medical has raised $150 million in Series B funding.

With participation from a number of well-known institutional and strategic investors, Noah Medical says it will use the funds to meet rising demand for the Galaxy System, its next-generation, integrated solution for navigated robotic bronchoscopy.

Co-led by the Softbank Vision Fund and Prosperity7 Ventures, the oversubscribed round also included investments from Tiger Global, Hillhouse, Sequoia China, Shangbay Capital, Uphonest Capital, Sunmed Capital, Lyfe Capital, 1955 Capital, and AME cloud ventures, as well as undisclosed strategic and existing investors. Noah Medical unveils first trials of its Galaxy robotic surgical system in human patients

Medical robotics innovator Noah Medical has unveiled its ongoing trial at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

The Frontier study is a first-in-human trial focused on the safety and feasibility of the Galaxy System, which is designed to improve location accuracy and successful diagnosis of lung nodules using its proprietary TiLT+ Technology.

The study is enrolling a small cohort of patients with the goal of successfully navigating to and biopsying peripheral lung nodules.
