Geek Plus Robotics to showcase ‘smart logistics automation solutions’ at CeMAT Asia

Geek Plus, a robotics and supply chain automation start-up based in Beijing, China, is preparing to showcase its unmanned warehouse solutions at Booth W3-C3 CeMAT Asia in Shanghai China, from November 6th to 9th, 2018.

CeMAT Asia, which is regarded as a high-level international exhibition where the newest technologies of material handling, automation, transport are displayed, is an excellent platform for Geek Plus Robotics to present the turnkey automation solutions for intralogistics and to discuss with potential clients worldwide about the prospects of implementing robots for business growth.

Bosch reveals ideas for autonomous technology for trucks

Bosch has unveiled a long list of ideas for future trucks, which it envisions as having much more autonomous technology and being powered by an electric engine.

Apparently, the company also believes digital side-view mirrors are the way forward, as well as a “digital instrument cluster”, which is probably the same as a “virtual dashboard”.

MontraTec to launch self-propelling ‘shuttle carrier’ for intralogistics applications

Intralogistics solutions provider MontraTec is launching a new self-propelling “shuttle carrier” at Automatica.

The company says it will also be showcasing five new product developments of their future-oriented automation and transport system “montrac”.

Deliver: Growth of e-commerce providing opportunities for robotics and automation companies

Alibaba business unit Cainiao shows off autonomous delivery vehicle

Alibaba’s logistics business unit Cainiao has been demonstrating a small, autonomous vehicle designed for goods deliveries. 

Alibaba bought a controlling stake in Cainiao last year and said it would invest $15 billion into developing its logistics network and technologies.

This new vehicle may indicate the direction in which the companies are looking to go.

Cainiao is said to deliver more than 80 per cent of goods ordered through Alibaba websites, according to TechNode.com.

Alibaba is said to be the largest e-commerce company in the world.

Study: 40 percent of parcels delivered within 2 hours by 2028

A survey from Zebra Technologies Corporation, a major player in mobile computers, barcode scanners and barcode printers, revealed that 78 percent of logistics companies expect to provide same-day delivery by 2023 and 40 percent anticipate delivery within a two-hour window by 2028.

In addition, 87 percent of survey respondents expect to use crowdsourced delivery or a network of drivers that choose to complete a specific order by 2028.

Zebra’s Future of Fulfillment Vision Study surveyed more than 2,700 professionals in transportation and logistics, retail and manufacturing firms on their plans, implementation levels, experiences and attitudes toward omnichannel logistics.
