Avidbots releases first floorscrubbing robot built for industrial spaces

Avidbots, a robotics company, has launched its first cleaning robot, Neo 2W, describing it as having been “designed specifically for warehouses and manufacturing environments to improve cleaning quality, efficiency and productivity”.

Warehouses and factories present unique and challenging environments for robots, given floor debris, dynamic activity, and frequent layout changes.

Autonomous logistics startup Venti Technologies raises $28.8 million in Series A funding

Venti Technologies, a provider of autonomous logistics for global supply chain and industrial hubs, has secured $28.8 million in a Series A financing.

The financing round was led by LG Technology Ventures, the Silicon Valley-based venture capital arm of the LG Group, with participation from Safar Partners, UOB Venture Management, and existing investors Alpha JWC and LDV Partners.

ABI Research gives 16 autonomous forklift system vendors competitive rankings

A new competitive ranking by technology research firm ABI Research provides “an in-depth and unbiased examination” of the autonomous forklift solutions offered by 16 autonomous forklift suppliers, according to the company.

A total of eight criteria were chosen for the analysis and segmented across innovation and implementation clusters. These include the vehicle solutions across three major categories of autonomous forklifts, namely reach truck, counterbalance stacker, and pallet truck, the level of maturity in navigation solutions, fleet management and orchestration, as well as the vendors’ integration and optimization capability.

Qualcomm releases ‘groundbreaking IoT and robotics’ platforms

Qualcomm Technologies has launched what it says are “the world’s first” integrated 5G IoT processors that are designed to support four major operating systems, in addition to two new robotics platforms, and an accelerator program for IoT ecosystem partners.

These new innovations will empower manufacturers participating in the rapidly expanding world of devices at the connected intelligent edge.

The need for connected, intelligent, and autonomous devices is growing rapidly, and it is expected to hit $116 billion by 2030 according to Precedence Research.
