HP expands and enriches its 3D printing ecosystem

HP has launched a series of new subscriptions and services to help customers “more easily integrate 3D printing into their digital manufacturing strategies”.

HP also unveiled a series of expanded industrial partnerships and is showcasing innovative new applications and use cases with industry leaders such as Siemens, Volkswagen, and many more.

HP to acquire OneFlow Systems

HP has announced an agreement to acquire OneFlow Systems, a provider of cloud-based print workflow solutions based in the UK.

The acquisition continues HP’s focus on delivering industry-leading solutions to customers and commercial printers using HP presses, HP Indigo and HP PageWide Industrial.

OneFlow Systems has been an important HP partner, working closely with the company to co-develop a suite of simple to use, innovative features designed to make online print ordering simple.

HP opens 3D printing and digital manufacturing centre of excellence in Spain

HP has opened a new 3D printing and digital manufacturing centre of excellence in Barcelona, Spain – one of the world’s largest and most advanced research and development facilities for those technologies.

The new centre brings together hundreds of the world’s leading additive manufacturing experts in more than 150,000 square feet of space.

The 3+ acre facility at HP’s Barcelona campus is dedicated to the development of HP’s industrial 3D printing portfolio and provides a large-scale factory environment to collaborate with customers and partners on digital manufacturing technologies.

Materialise expands work with HP on industrial‐scale 3D printing

Materialise and HP Inc. have announced an expansion of work to pave the way towards industrial-scale 3D printing, including integration of Materialise’s software with HP’s Jet Fusion 3D printing solutions.

Also included is an important certification validating the HP solutions as fully compatible with Materialise Mimics in Print software for use in healthcare.

Other initiatives to accelerate the digital transformation of manufacturing, include the integration of a new version of the Materialise Build Processor to support the full range of printers in the HD 3D printing portfolio.

HP and Siemens deepen additive manufacturing alliance

HP and Siemens have announced an expansion of their strategic alliance in industrial additive manufacturing (AM).

The two companies will incorporate new systems and software innovations including overall product life-cycle management (PLM), AM factory optimisation and industrial 3D printing.

The expanded additive manufacturing solution from Siemens and HP integrates hardware, software, data intelligence, and services to optimise the efficiency of the entire manufacturing process.

HP accelerates 3D printing mass production

At formnext 2018, HP announced new and expanded installations of its HP Jet Fusion 3D printing solutions to meet the growing worldwide demand for production-grade 3D manufactured parts.

HP showcased the explosion of new applications across the transportation, industrial, medical, and consumer sectors, including new PA-11 applications, and initial customers of its new award-winning HP Jet Fusion 3D 300 / 500 solutions.

HP also announced a design-to-print workflow with Autodesk to enable generative design capabilities across the entire HP Multi Jet Fusion portfolio, as well as new online resources to accelerate the journey to mass production for customers and resellers.

HP launches advanced metals 3D printing technology for mass production

HP launched HP Metal Jet at the 2018 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) this week. The company claims it is the world’s most advanced 3D printing technology for the high volume manufacturing of production-grade metal parts.

Providing, it says, up to 50 times more productivity at a significantly lower cost than other 3D printing methods, HP Metal Jet is being deployed by manufacturing leaders GKN Powder Metallurgy and Parmatech for the factory production of final parts.

Customers placing orders include global firms Volkswagen (see story) and Wilo and vertical market companies such as Primo Medical Group and OKAY Industries.

Siemens and HP expand collaboration for industrial 3D printed parts

HP Inc. and Siemens have expanded their longstanding collaboration to enable even more advanced functionality across a broader set of Siemens PLM software to change the way users can design and manufacture with HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology.

With the latest releases, Siemens, a leader in digial innovation software, and HP, the global industry leader in 3D printing, will enable users of Siemens’ NX™ software and Solid Edge software to design and produce full colour 3D-printed parts.

HP’s Jet Fusion 3D 300/500 series is the industry’s first 3D printing solution for the production of engineering-grade, functional parts in full colour, black or white – with voxel-level control – in a fraction of the time of other solutions, it is claimed.

HP launches print-to-order book manufacturing services

HP has introduced HP Piazza, a set of independent and interlocking cloud-based services that it says will enable publishers to make book manufacturing and distribution more time- and cost-efficient.

Publishers can build a virtual warehouse for the management, automation, distribution, print, and direct fulfilment of book orders, while holding zero inventory.

Bridging the worlds of book publishing and digital book printing, the Piazza platform focuses on the needs of publishers in a world where short-run digital production is an everyday reality.

HP and Deloitte partner to provide digital technologies for industrial companies

HP, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of computer technology, and Deloitte Consulting have partnered to provide a range of products and services intended to help industrial companies to digitise their operations. 

The idea of digitalisation is still something many industrial companies are getting used to, and it’s something that has yet to be fully realised.
