Donatos and Appetronix launch fully-autonomous robotic pizza kitchen at Columbus Airport

Travelers passing through John Glenn Columbus International Airport can now witness the future of fast food.

This week, Donatos Pizza, in partnership with robotic restaurant technology specialist Appetronix, unveiled a first-of-its-kind, fully-autonomous pizza kitchen, redefining the quick-service restaurant experience. (See video below.)

XRobotics raises $2.5 million to scale AI pizza production

XRobotics, a San Francisco-based company, building smart kitchen robots for pizza-making, has successfully raised a $2.5 million seed round led by FinSight Ventures and joined by SOSV, MANA Ventures, and Republic Capital.

The company’s robots can produce up to 100 pizzas per hour and significantly reduce operational costs for restaurants.

Unlike traditional food automation, XRobotics relies on computer vision and AI combined with custom patented robotics inventions that adapt to the environment and unpredictable nature of organic ingredients – from sticky cheeses and temperature-sensitive toppings to sauces that vary from batch to batch. Hyundai Robotics to automate fast-food production for KFC

Hyundai Robotics is entering the food technology market in cooperation with the global chicken franchise, KFC.

Hyundai Robotics has signed an agreement outlining “research and co-operation in automated production manufacturing” with KFC at the restaurant chain’s Eungam restaurant in Seoul, South Korea.
