Kiwibot, a developer of autonomous sidewalk robots, has launched what it describes as a “first-of-its-kind rent-a-robot” service to support companies in their cargo, advertising, and delivery needs.

Kiwibot Automation helps clients improve their operational costs by providing end-to-end automation solutions, particularly in industries with labor-intensive operations.

Starship Technologies’ autonomous robots deliver from three University of Minnesota eateries

University of Minnesota Twin Cities community members will see food delivery robots — powered by Starship Technologies — rolling around campus.

They are part of the first University-run food delivery service on the Twin Cities campus and are the first technology of this kind approved in Minneapolis.

Via the Starship app, students, faculty, staff and visitors can order delivery to almost anywhere on the East Bank from Panda Express, Starbucks and Erbert & Gerbert’s in Coffman Memorial Union. Matternet enters home delivery market with first drone delivery in Silicon Valley

Matternet, a developer of urban drone delivery services, is entering the home delivery market with the launch of the first-ever drone delivery service in Silicon Valley.

Serve Robotics to deliver Shake Shack food with delivery robots using Uber platform

Serve Robotics, an autonomous sidewalk delivery company, and Shake Shack have agreed a partnership to deliver Shake Shack using Serve’s autonomous delivery robots via Uber Eats, the delivery platform of Uber Technologies.

Customers who order from select Shake Shack restaurants in Los Angeles through Uber Eats may receive their order via Serve’s innovative autonomous robots.

The partnership marks another step forward in the expansion of sidewalk robots on Uber Eats, which has been offering Serve’s autonomous deliveries in Los Angeles since 2022, and is poised to lead to future expansion across the US. Flytrex achieves 100,000 drone deliveries

Flytrex, an airborne food delivery service, says it has made 100,000 drone delivery across its locations in North Carolina and Texas, making it “the largest operation of its kind in the United States”.

Vayu Robotics launches ‘world’s first’ on-road delivery robot powered by AI robotics foundation models

Consumers rely on e-commerce platforms to deliver groceries, electronics, apparel and more everyday. And while the number of deliveries is skyrocketing – by 2027, 23 percent of American retail purchases are expected to take place online – cost per delivery remains stubbornly high.

In a move to slash the cost of e-commerce deliveries, Vayu Robotics has released what it says is “the world’s first on-road delivery robot that combines the power of modern AI foundation models with lidar-less, low-cost passive sensors’.

Traditional mobile robotics rely on costly lidar sensors and software modules built to do one task at a time, leading to expensive hardware and fragile software unable to handle new scenarios.
