Why You Should Consider Having a Custom-Made Robot Cover

May 29, 2024 by Mark Allinson

In today’s technologically advanced industries, the integration of robots into various operational processes is no longer a novelty but a necessity.

These robotic systems, while robust and highly efficient, are susceptible to environmental factors that can significantly impact their performance and longevity.

This is where custom-made robot covers come into play. Tailored specifically to meet the unique demands of different industrial applications, these covers provide unparalleled protection against hazards such as extreme temperatures, chemical exposure, moisture, and physical abrasion. Here’s All You Need to Know About Keeping Your Cars Safe With Covers

January 11, 2023 by Mark Allinson

It’s possible to see a covered car in a lot of your driveway. There are a lot of questions first-time buyers have when they buy a car cover. Is a car cover worth it, is it usable for everyone, and what is the point of it?

Keeping your car safe is the primary benefit of a car cover. Dust, dirt, and faded paint can be prevented due to UV exposure. It takes a lot of time and effort to apply and remove a high-quality car cover, and it can be very expensive if you opt for a low-quality cover.

The cover only works if it’s applied correctly. It can lead to scratches and rust when put on the wrong way. This guide will give you everything you need to know about car covers. [Read more…] about Here’s All You Need to Know About Keeping Your Cars Safe With Covers

Automating cricket ball production: Global cricket ball manufacturer uses automation with a vision system for efficiency and upskilling

December 30, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Under the laws of cricket, it is illegal for players to rub any substance other than saliva and sweat onto the ball, let alone scuffing it with their fingernails. Similarly, strict rules apply to the manufacturing of cricket balls.

Here’s how cricket ball manufacturer Kookaburra designed its first ever machine tending robotic system to produce the perfect ball, with the help of industrial robot supplier, TM Robotics and MAP Services, Australian partner for TM Robotics and Shibaura Machine.

Machine tending is repetitive work. The job of loading and unloading machines with parts or materials are usually done by humans. In the production of cricket balls, workers would place covers – the outside leather of cricket balls – onto trays after being pressed into shape to form half of a cricket ball. These trays are then placed into a rack and moved to the next process – trimming excess leather from the pressed cover. The Damage to Machinery You Don’t Always Notice

August 12, 2020 by Polly

When someone talks about technology being damaged, what are some of the first things you imagine in your head? Maybe a smartphone being dropped screen first onto asphalt. A car crash, maybe. How about those videos of people throwing laptops off of stairs.

But there are other types of damage that you don’t always notice, as they’re not as visible and seem to fly right under people’s radar. Things like dust, the weather, even the Sun can cause serious harm to machinery without anyone even realizing it. So then, what is this damage, and how to avoid it? North American distributors of Universal Robots are now opening Authorized Training Centers (ATCs), offering classes spanning basic to advanced programming of UR cobots. The first four ATCs have been launched, with another nine to follow by end of 2019.

Universal Robots says it is committed to making collaborative robots (cobots) in the workplace accessible to all. The company is now building on the popular online modules offered through the UR Academy by enabling its sales channel to open ATCs.

Through hands-on classes hosted by UR trained teachers, the ATCs will broaden users’ understanding of the UR cobots’ range of use cases, while providing opportunities for hands-on practice in real-life applications.
