Siemens and Audi partner to implement ‘next level’ software-defined automation

Engineering giant Siemens and automotive company Audi say they are “revolutionizing manufacturing processes” with “next level” software-defined automation and artificial intelligence (AI).

The long-standing partnership is accelerating innovation for the automotive industry by focusing on integrating virtual and hardware controllers, enhancing safety functions, and streamlining production processes.

Audi has also implemented AI-driven automation for optical inspection based on the Siemens portfolio. The goal is to automate detection and removal of weld spatter on vehicle bodies using a customer-trained AI algorithm and high-resolution images. Epson signs Bertelkamp Automation as a partner

Vention unveils AI-powered bin picking system to ‘transform robots into reliable, autonomous operators’

Vention, the provider of a software and hardware automation platform, will debut its AI-driven bin-picking technology at Nvidia GTC, an artificial intelligence (AI) conference for developers, held recently in San Jose, California, in the US.

This new AI-driven process eliminates complex and expensive custom solutions that require programming – simplifying adoption of this in-demand automation solution. Vention is slated to commercialize its AI-driven bin-picking technology later this year.

Dassault Systèmes and Kuka partner to boost robotics and automation efficiency

Dassault Systèmes has launched a partnership with the global industrial automation and robotics company Kuka to provide manufacturing industries with comprehensive solutions that meet growing demands in robotics and automation.

Honeywell to power Corvus Robotics drones to automate inventory tracking in warehouses

Honeywell has launched its SwiftDecoder barcode-decoding software will be integrated into Corvus Robotics’ self-flying inventory drones.

Geekplus launches its first robotic automation project in South Africa

Geekplus, one of the world’s largest providers of warehouse robotics and automation solutions, has launched its first project in South Africa in collaboration with its partner European Conveyors and Components (ECC) for the country’s online retailer, Takealot.

The innovative initiative introduces a large fleet of intelligent sorting robots to Takealot’s Johannesburg facility, setting new benchmarks for operational efficiency, ergonomics, and employee satisfaction in the logistics sector.

This is Geekplus’ first project in South Africa marking a significant milestone not only for the company but also for the evolution of robotics in African logistics.
