July 2, 2019 by Sam Francis

Prestigious auction house Christie’s recently hosted an art exhibition with a difference – the subject of this one was the impact of artificial intelligence on all aspects of the art world.

The 2019 Art+Tech Summit: The AI Revolution brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and artists for a series of lectures and panel discussions.

Kuka robot becomes a part of Dutch cultural history

June 27, 2019 by Anna

An art group, ‘robotlab’, has installed a Kuka robot in the city of Dordrecht to transcribe the Bible. The art project is part of the festivities for the 400th anniversary of the Synod of Dordrecht – a seminal event in the history of Dutch Protestantism.

The art group, in existence since 2000, examines the relationship between humans and robots. Since the group’s inception, Matthias Gommel, Martina Haitz and Jan Zappe have organised more than 100 exhibitions.

The current ‘bios [bible]’ project is using a robot from the Kuka’s KR CYBERTECH series to independently transcribe the Bible in Dutch.

Interest and fascination grows about robots’ artistic talents

July 19, 2017 by David Edwards

Captives #B04 from Quayola on Vimeo.

Industrial robots which are normally seen in factories making cars or some other heavy industrial object are increasingly shown as drawing or painting like artists.

These days, with ever-more powerful artificial intelligence software driving the robots, it’s difficult to say if there’s anything left that robots cannot do.

The big question is probably, “Is there anything that humans can do that robots cannot?”
