Intrinsic unveils new AI-powered industrial automation solutions at Automatica 2025

Intrinsic – a business unit of Alphabet, parent company of Google – is showcasing at Automatica 2025 several new AI-enabled robotic systems and platform enhancements aimed at transforming how automation providers and manufacturers build, deploy, and scale intelligent solutions.

The company has announced support for end-to-end solution development for CNC machine tending and optical inspection use cases on its Intrinsic platform. These new capabilities combine Intrinsic Flowstate, AI-powered perception, motion planning, and IntrinsicOS to streamline complex industrial automation tasks.

Among the highlights at the trade show are demonstrations from three new customers – Newston Automated Solutions, Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, and MartinSystems – each presenting their first solutions built with Intrinsic. Chinese government to invest $140 billion in robotics and high-tech industries

China’s National Development and Reform Commission plans to set up a state-backed venture capital fund focused on robotics, AI and cutting-edge innovation.

Siemens advances autonomous production with new AI and robotics capabilities for automated guided vehicles

At automatica, the leading trade show for automation and robotics, engineering giant Siemens is set to reveal plans to integrate its Operations Copilot into driverless transport systems and mobile robots. The Operations Copilot is an industrial copilot for machine operation and maintenance.

As mobile transport robots increasingly operate as autonomous physical agents powered by artificial intelligence (AI), the Operations Copilot will serve as a user interface for humans.

Through this agent-based interface, users will be able to configure autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), assigning them tasks like transporting materials and goods across the shop floor. Sunrise Robotics emerges from stealth with $8.5 million funding

Sunrise Robotics, a company that says it’s “augmenting humanity through intelligent robotics”, is emerging from stealth with $8.5 million in funding led by Plural.

Tapestry, Seedcamp, Tiny.vc and Prototype Capital also participated. The investment will fuel the expansion of its European-wide team and enhance AI capabilities as the company scales production of the initial fleet of Sunrise intelligent robotic cells, bringing critical manufacturing capacity back to the continent. Premier Automation launches innovation hub with support from Pennsylvania

Premier Automation has launched its Premier Innovation Hub, a new facility in Westmoreland County that will serve as a national model for industrial automation, workforce development, and technology commercialization.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has committed more than $3 million in support through a combination of grants, loans, and training funds.
