NextDent 5100 wins 3D magazine award

3D Systems has been awarded the 2018 Healthcare Application of the Year by the publication ‘3D Printing Industry’ for its NextDent 5100 digital dentistry solution.

The winners, including individuals and enterprises focused on additive manufacturing and 3D printing, were nominated and voted on by the publication’s readers. For 2018, award nominations increased 35 percent, and voting also surpassed prior years.

“This award recognizes a momentous shift in the market for digital dentistry, as there is a tremendous growth opportunity for dental 3D printing,” said Rik Jacobs, vice president, general manager, dental, 3D Systems.

Dental implant business takes off using 3D printing

Italian start-up Yndetech has added its 700th customer in just two years, producing high quality dental implants and other dental devices using four 3D Systems ProX DMP 100 3D metal printers.

Yndetech, which was founded in 2016, acquired its first ProX DMP 100 shortly after it opened its doors in June of that year.

“My partner, Francesco Grande, and I realised that the quality of the pieces we were seeing from the DMP 100 was absolutely outstanding. We shared these results with the dental technicians in the area and the feedback was very positive,” said Emidio Cennerilli, president and CEO, Yndetech.

3D Systems claims its printers offer ‘world’s fastest time-to-part’ process

3D Systems‘ Figure 4™ Production and Figure 4 Standalone is now the fastest, most accurate 3D printing technology available, says the company.

Recently released data on Figure 4 Production highlights part print speeds up to 65mm/hr, with prototyping speeds of up to 100 mm/hr.

The Figure 4 platform delivers part accuracy and repeatability, with Six Sigma repeatability (Cpk > 2) across all materials.
