Exotec, a warehouse robotics provider, says its fleet of Skypod robots have achieved a major operational milestone, retrieving and delivering over one million bins to workstations on a daily basis globally.

Exotec says this achievement underscores its commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance solutions that improve supply chain operations worldwide.

Each individual bin fulfilment represents a robot retrieving a bin and delivering it to a designated workstation. Each bin can fulfil up to four orders, significantly reducing the time and effort it takes for warehouse workers to keep up with spikes in customer demand. ANYbotics raises additional $60 million to drive US expansion

ANYbotics, a provider of four-legged robotic inspection solutions, has raised an additional $60 million, bringing its total funding to over $130 million.

The new funding is led by Qualcomm Ventures and Supernova Invest, with participation from TDK Ventures and other new investors.

Surgical robotics startup Capstan Medical raises $110 million in new funding

Capstan Medical, a developer of robotic enabled minimally invasive solutions to address heart valve disease, announced today its $110 million Series C to further advance its mission of bringing its innovative structural heart solution to patients.

The round was led by Eclipse, with participation from existing investors Yu Galaxy and Intuitive Ventures, and new investment from Gideon Strategic Partners.

Heart disease has remained the leading cause of death in America for over 100 years, claiming a life every 33 seconds. ABB invests in ESS to ‘reduce costs and emissions for automotive paint shops’

ABB has entered into a strategic collaboration with Austria-based Engineering Software Steyr (ESS) to develop powerful simulation tools that will transform automotive paint shop operations while reducing costs by up to 30 percent.

As part of the collaboration, ABB will take a minority investment in ESS. Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.

“Delivering faster and more energy efficient solutions for the paint process is the final piece of the puzzle in digitalizing the manufacturing transition in the automotive industry,” said Marc Segura, President, ABB Robotics division. EDAP TMS publishes results of cancer treatment through robotic system

EDAP TMS, a provider of robotic energy-based therapies, has published the full results from the HIFI study in the prestigious, peer-reviewed journal, European Urology, which has the highest impact factor amongst scientific journals focused in urology.

The study evaluated HIFU versus radical prostatectomy (RP) as a first line treatment of localized prostate cancer. The paper is entitled “Whole-gland or Subtotal High-intensity Focused Ultrasound Versus Radical Prostatectomy: The Prospective, Noninferiority, Nonrandomized, HIFI Trial”, and is authored by Dr Guillaume Ploussard from Department of Urology, UROSUD, Clinique La Croix du Sud, France. 

Professor Pascal Rischmann, principal investigator of the HIFI trial and senior author of the publication, says: “The publication of the HIFI study in European Urology will importantly serve to increase awareness amongst the global urology and patient community on how robotic HIFU technology is rapidly changing the treatment paradigm for patients with localized, early-stage prostate cancer. Mobile robot shipments set to grow from 547,000 to 2.8 million by 2030, says report

Mobile robot shipments will remain the highest across all robot form factors. ABI Research, a technology intelligence firm, forecasts shipments to grow from 547,000 units in 2023 to 2.79 million by 2030, a compound annual growth rate of 24.1 percent.

Mobile robots are most used within warehousing and logistics, but the form factor is increasingly essential in manufacturing, last-mile delivery, agriculture, and healthcare. Mobile robots demonstrate efficiency improvements for diverse applications varying from cleaning to security.

Exotec expands pharmaceutical sector portfolio through partnerships with Hygie31 and Hartmann

Exotec, a provider of warehouse automation and robotics solutions, has agreed partnerships with two new organisations in the pharmaceutical sector: Hygie31 and Hartmann Group. Both companies will adopt Exotec’s Skypod robotic system to automate warehouse processes and increase efficiency.

Hygie31, a major player in the healthcare industry has chosen Exotec to transform its pharmacy Dhygietal logistics platform, with the Skypod robots implemented at the company’s La Veuve warehouse.

The Exotec installation covers 1,500 sq m and comprises 38 Skypod robots, moving autonomously in all directions and up to 11 metres in height.
