automatica Summit: Megatrends in robotics and AI

‘Many more metal men’: Ambitious goals for humanoid mass production

There will be ‘many more metal men’ in the world from now on, according to automatica, one of the world’s leading industrial trade shows for the robotics and automation industry

Humanoid robot development is progressing at an impressive pace.

The power struggle between the US and China, along with advances in AI, battery development, and mechanics, has led performance improvements among the metal men. automatica will show how far this development has progressed by now.

The humanoids from China recently had an opportunity to show their capabilities during a half marathon in Beijing. Around 20 humanoid robots successfully competed against humans during the 21-kilometer run.

Sole Source Capital’s portfolio company Peak Technologies acquires Automation Intelligence

Sole Source Capital, an industrial-focused private equity firm, says its portfolio company, Peak Technologies, a system integrator in the automatic identification and data capture market, has acquired Automation Intelligence.

The acquisition marks Sole Source Capital’s 18th add-on acquisition for Peak Technologies since Sole Source acquired the company in 2021.

Automate 2025: North America’s biggest industrial automation event

Automate 2025 – which starts Monday – is North America’s largest robotics and automation event, a key meeting point for professionals in this rapidly evolving field.

Since its beginnings in 1976 as the first “Robots Show”, it has grown and adapted, becoming Automate in 2011 after merging with other industry events. Recognizing the increasing importance of automation, Automate became an annual standalone event in 2022.

Omron separates robotics business unit in ‘strategic step’

Omron has announced the creation of what it describes as “a dedicated global robotics organisation”, describing it as a “strategic step”.

The company says the restructuring reflects Omron’s “continued commitment to robotics as a core part of its value proposition and an essential pillar of its complete end-to-end automation solutions”.

The new robotics organisation will operate alongside Omron’s automation business, allowing both to complement and reinforce one another.

Taiwan to promote 15 ‘advanced technology brands’ at Automate 2025

Taiwan Excellence, a government-backed industrial trade organization, is planning to introduce 15 leading Taiwanese brands at Automate 2025, the largest automation exhibition in North America, scheduled from May 12-15 at Huntington Place in Detroit.

Taiwan Excellence is an annual award program for innovative Taiwanese products. Incorporating the theme of “Advancing Robotics with Taiwanese Precision”, the Taiwan Excellence exhibit in Hall B, Booth 2646, will showcase the latest product innovations in robots and AloT solutions to provide a competitive edge and to shape the future of robotics technology.

Universal Robots and MiR to debut new AI-powered automation solutions at Automate 2025
