Partner Robotics raises $14 million funding to develop its construction robotics business

Partner Robotics has raised $14 million in a Series A funding round led by China Growth Capital, with participation from existing investors Cowin Capital and Redpoint China Ventures.

Index Capital served as the financial advisor. Including its angel round completed at the end of 2024, the company has raised about RMB 100 million ($14 million) to date.

Construction sector looks to humanoid robots as labour shortages intensify, says McKinsey

The global construction industry is accelerating efforts to adopt humanoid robots as it grapples with a persistent productivity slump and ongoing labour shortages, according to a new report from McKinsey & Company.

In a note emailed to Robotics & Automation News, a spokesperson for McKinsey highlighted the pressure facing the sector.

Kuka partners with Kleusberg to ‘bring advanced automation to modular construction’

Industrial automation company Kuka and modular construction specialist Kleusberg have formed a partnership to bring advanced automation to modular construction, with the goal of modernising and streamlining manufacturing at Kleusberg’s plant near Halle (Saale).

The cooperation aims to install full robotic welding systems for floor and ceiling modules, forming part of a long-term plan to expand the use of automation in building production.

Beginning in 2027, Kleusberg will deploy a flexible, robot-based welding system supplied by Kuka. The turnkey line will use five industrial robots to weld more than 2,000 metres of 2D floor and ceiling frames every week across a production area of over 1,000 square metres.
