TB Spain Injection achieves significant gains in production capacity with two MiR robots
The Spanish plant of the French multinational group TBI, which specialises in the manufacture of technical precision parts through mono-material, bi-material and tri material injection moulding, has installed two MiR200™ for the internal transport of materials and has thus managed not only to improve the productivity of production operators but also to increase the number of injection machines in the space saved. The two robots travel approximately 100 km per month and have enabled the company to assign two warehouse technicians to higher-value tasks in the distribution area.
Five MiR500 AMRs Boost Warehouse Logistics for Novo Nordisk’s Pharmaceutical Plant in China
Five MiR500 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) have improved the warehouse logistics within the Chinese plant for Novo Nordisk, a leading global healthcare company specializing in pharmaceuticals and products to address diabetes and other serious chronic diseases. Previously, the plant used manned forklifts to transport pallets of packaging materials to a series of high bay racks, where a specialized fork truck then lifted and placed the pallets into the racks. The automated solutions from MiR have saved the plant at least 35 hours a week, freeing human workers to focus their skills on higher-value activities.
Mercedes-Benz unveils the MBUX Hyperscreen
For Mercedes-Benz, 2021 marks the beginning of the next chapter in interaction between vehicle and user: the MBUX Hyperscreen takes the operation and display of infotainment, comfort and vehicle functions to a new level thanks to artificial intelligence (AI).
The large, curved screen unit lends the interior a unique aesthetic and extends along the entire width of the vehicle in front of the driver and front passenger – for whom the digital experience is as emotional as it is intuitive and effortless. The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) Hyperscreen, which is for the first time optionally available in the fully electric luxury saloon EQS, is representative of the emotional intelligence of the entire vehicle and is highly capable of learning. SICK launches ‘ready-made, very versatile’ quality control system
SICK’s newly-developed MQCS (Modular Quality Control System) is an “off the shelf”, multifunctional machine vision system, and is sold as a ready-to-use package of hardware and pre-written software. Suitable for code reading, 2D or 3D inspection duties, the MQCS reduces cost and development time needed to set up automated quality inspection and logistics applications.
Originally, developed as a solution for non-contact 3D inspection of chocolate moulds in the confectionery industry, the MQCS soon demonstrated its versatility to be adapted for other applications such as “right product/right packaging” code matching, counting and aggregation of varied packages, monitoring the cycle life of materials handling equipment, and other 3D inspection and measurement tasks. Autonomous Mobile Robots Deliver on the Promise of Safer Operations
Rob Sullivan, President, AutoGuide Mobile Robots
You need to move material but moving that material is risky business. Ninety percent of all forklifts in the US will be in an accident during their useful life, and almost 35,000 people per year suffer severe injuries in forklift-related incidents.
Accidents happen and people are injured when a forklift driver’s view is obscured by the load they’re carrying. It happens all the time but there’s a better way.
Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). Robots that can navigate autonomously along pre-determined paths using only the natural features of the facility. They have built-in sensors and LiDAR scanners that detect objects and personnel in their path to substantially reduce accidents of all kinds.
