Dürr unveils new painting technology for vehicles

December 4, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Industrial robotics company Dürr has unveiled new painting technology for vehicles.

Dürr’s latest development enables mixed 2-component paint systems to be fed directly in the return system within the atomiser for the first time.

This eliminates volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions in the paint booth during flushing processes and colour changes. The new solution has been successfully deployed in two top coat lines for over a year.

Osaro debuts AI-powered robotics for mixed-case depalletization

February 22, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Osaro, a developer of machine-learning-enabled robotics for e-commerce, has launched its Osaro Robotic Depalletization System.

This latest advanced warehouse automation system from Osaro takes aim at one of the most dangerous and labor-intensive jobs in the e-commerce fulfillment and warehousing: the daily unloading of hundreds of heavy and cumbersome boxes and packages that arrive at a warehouse on a standard pallet.

The Osaro Robotic Depalletization System is equipped with Osaro SightWorks Perception Software, which enables the robot to recognize, select and successfully grasp the varied sizes and materials of unevenly stacked packages commonly found on mixed-case pallets that arrive at a loading dock. Plus One Robotics uses Yaskawa Motoman to expand mixed depalletizing solutions

May 10, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Plus One Robotics, a provider of advanced AI vision software and solutions for robotic parcel handling, has launched new customer programs using Yaskawa Motoman robots. These customer deployments are for Plus One’s induction and mixed depalletizing solutions.

This deployment of Plus One and Yaskawa robotic solutions consists of 12 new induction systems acquired by FedEx Corp. This purchase builds upon the four existing robotic systems in use at the FedEx Express Hub in Memphis, Tennessee.

Additionally, Plus One successfully introduced its mixed depalletizing systems at the FedEx Reno, NV facility. Plus One’s mixed depalletizing systems will allow for easier, more efficient movement of cases from palleted shipments throughout the FedEx facility. Smart Robotics launches new robotic mixed case palletizer

March 23, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Smart Robotics, a warehouse robotics and automation specialist, has launched its Smart Mixed Case Palletizer, an industrial robot pick and place station.

Smart Robotics says the system is designed to improve warehouse delivery speed by removing one of the biggest bottlenecks – manual palletizing of mixed products or stock-keeping units (SKUs).

By using warehouse automation, the robot enables another step towards touchless shipping and allows large distribution centres to pre-sort to multiple destinations without increasing full-time equivalent employees (FTEs) in shipping.
