Starship Technologies’ autonomous robots deliver from three University of Minnesota eateries

University of Minnesota Twin Cities community members will see food delivery robots — powered by Starship Technologies — rolling around campus.

They are part of the first University-run food delivery service on the Twin Cities campus and are the first technology of this kind approved in Minneapolis.

Via the Starship app, students, faculty, staff and visitors can order delivery to almost anywhere on the East Bank from Panda Express, Starbucks and Erbert & Gerbert’s in Coffman Memorial Union. KSP partners with Peak Technologies and Locus Robotics to install 60 robots at Minnesota site

KSP Fulfillment, a third-party logistics company, is partnering with Peak Technologies, a provider of digital supply chain and mobile workforce solutions, and Locus Robotics, a provider of autonomous mobile robot solutions for fulfillment warehouses.

KSP has deployed 60 of Locus’s autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at its warehouse in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, with operations initiated in August 2024.

May Mobility passes milestone of 10,000 passengers with its autonomous vehicles

May Mobility, a developer of autonomous driving technology, says that more than 10,000 riders have used its goMARTI autonomous vehicle service in Grand Rapids, Minnesota since its launch in September 2022.

AECOM to partner with MnDOT and the City of White Bear Lake on automated shuttle pilot

AECOM, an infrastructure consulting firm, is partnering with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and White Bear Lake on the launch of an automated shuttle pilot within the city.

The shuttle, which has been named “Bear Tracks”, will run for one year on a 1.5-mile route and be free to use, connecting area residents to several community facilities and businesses.

The project will incorporate key elements of MnDOT’s Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) Strategic Plan, including enhanced mobility for persons with disabilities, better travel options for elderly communities, and more public awareness of automated vehicle technologies. Welding and automation integration company Central McGowan completes its third acquisition of the year

Central McGowan, a supplier of gases and technology for manufacturing the upper Midwest and a Fanuc- and Lincoln-authorized integrator, has completed the acquisition of Preferred Welder Sales in Mankato, Minnesota – bringing its acquisition roster for 2021 to three. 

The company acquired Metro Welding Supply in Minneapolis, Minnesota. in April and Fessler Carbonic Gas in Des Moines, Iowa in March.

According to Joe Francis, president/CEO, these acquisitions complement Central McGowan’s current business while strengthening its presence in key market areas. All three of these companies were independently operated, highly successful businesses with owners seeking to retire and wanting a way to continue what they each started. KEB America awarded new ISO certification for Minnesota facility

KEB America has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification for their production facility located in Shakopee, Minnesota.

The certification, which came into effect January 2018, was issued after the facility met the criteria set by the International Organization for Standards and passed an audit, displaying zero non-conformities to the standard.
