Nachi-Fujikoshi launches the CZ10 collaborative robot

October 30, 2018 by Anna

Nachi-Fujikoshi has launched the CZ10, a compact collaborative robot offering improved safety and operability. The company says the robot “will satisfy automation needs across a wide range of fields, including customers who have been unfamiliar with robots to date”.

The firm made its full-scale entry into the compact robot market in 2013. In the time since, it has continued to expand and update its lineup, amassed expertise in the utilization of compact robots and worked on the development, improvement and functional enhancement of collaborative robots.

The CZ10 is claimed to feature exceptional safety performance, with a safety design that meets the ISO10218-1 and TS15066 international safety standards, making it possible for a person to work side-by-side with the robot without the need for a safety barrier.

Omron partners with Techman to sell TM cobots

May 23, 2018 by Anna

Omron Corp. and Techman Robot Inc. have signed an agreement to form a strategic alliance on collaborative robots under which Omron will globally market and sell Techman’s TM series of collaborative robots via its worldwide distribution network under a co-branded logo, starting in the second half of FY2018.

In addition, Omron and Techman will cooperate in developing the next generation of collaborative robots that will be easier to integrate with Omron’s other factory automation products.

Factories worldwide are facing major challenges in having to manufacture a high mix, low volume of products to meet their customer demands, combined with shorter product life cycles and labour shortage issues.

February 8, 2017 by Sam Francis

Product testing system using a collaborative robot from Universal Robots

How do you make sure that a product can handle the wear and tear of an expected life cycle and that all safety and quality standards are met?

You test it. Over and over again.

Nothing is more repetitive than product testing – lending itself to one of the “3D jobs” that robots excel at: dirty, dangerous… and dull.

Increasingly, collaborative robots – or cobots – are now being used for product testing. This type of automation is maximizing the testing environment, improving employee productivity and happiness, benefiting the bottom line while allowing companies to bring products to market much faster than ever before.  [Read more…] about Product testing: There’s a collaborative industrial robot for that
