When Should Old Electrical Wiring Be Replaced?

May 18, 2021 by Mark Allinson

It is critical to replace your home’s aging electrical wiring at the first hint of danger. This risk increases if your home is old.

In the United States, each year between 45,000 and 55,000 house fires are caused by poor electrical work or obsolete wiring. In Chicago, today’s homeowners have far greater demands on the electrical supply than expected when the houses were built.

The safety of your house is jeopardized if you use computer systems, gaming systems, huge appliances, or even “smart home” components on a house built for considerably low electrical usage.

This is only one of many explanations why your electrical device could need an upgrade. Understanding when to repair electrical wiring is critical as a homeowner because your family’s safety and wellbeing are at stake. [Read more…] about When Should Old Electrical Wiring Be Replaced?
