Xsens launches next-generation humanoid robotics motion capture system

Xsens, a Movella brand and specialist in inertial motion capture technology, has announced the release of its next-generation Xsens Link system alongside Xsens Humanoid, a purpose-built software suite to support the hyper-scaling of humanoid robot training and control.

Winners of AgiBot World Challenge at IROS 2025

The AgiBot World Challenge at IROS 2025 concluded with 431 robotics teams from 23 countries competing across two major categories – the World Model Track and the Manipulation Track – showcasing advances in embodied AI and real-world robotic skills.

In the World Model Track, first place went to VIPL-GENUN from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. HD-Robo from HiDream.ai Inc. took second place, followed by SHIELD-LMD, a joint team representing Alibaba Cloud, SHIELD, and Shanghai TAM, in third.

In the Manipulation Track, AIR-DREAM, a joint entry by Tsinghua University and Shanghai AI Lab, won first place. Notonlysim from South China University of Technology and Firebot from the University of Hong Kong ranked second and third respectively. bananaz launches AI-powered design agent for mechanical engineers

AI startup bananaz has unveiled its new Design Agent, an artificial intelligence system built specifically for mechanical engineers to analyze CAD files, technical drawings, and engineering data in context.

Unlike general-purpose chatbots, the bananaz Design Agent is designed to understand the complex logic of mechanical systems, including 3D geometries, assembly hierarchies, material specifications, and manufacturing constraints.

H3 Zoom raises $1.8 million to expand AI-powered infrastructure inspection across Asia

Singapore-based deep tech startup H3 Zoom has secured $1.8 million in the first closing of its Series A funding round, led by JRE Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of JR East, with participation from SGInnovate and M7 Holdings.

The company, which develops AI-powered inspection and asset management tools for critical infrastructure, says the funds will support expansion into Japan and Hong Kong, strengthen operations in Singapore, and accelerate research and development.

Abu Dhabi launches region’s first vertiport network for air taxis

Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), in collaboration with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA); the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT); and Abu Dhabi Airports (ADA), has launched the first vertiport network to support the launch of advanced air mobility across the emirate.

Delvitech raises $40 million in Series B investment round

Delvitech, a “deep tech” company specialising in the development of artificial intelligence-native automated optical inspection solutions for electronics, successfully closed a Series B investment round of $40 million.

The round was led by EGS Beteiligungen (EGSB), the Investment Company of the Ernst Göhner Foundation, together with CREADD Ventures, and joined by several prominent European private investors who contributed to this substantial fundraising.

Japanese air taxi company SoratobuTaxi completes investment in Plana US

Japanese air mobility company Soratobu Taxi (also known as SkyTaxi) has completed an investment in Plana US, a California-based developer of hybrid-electric eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft.

The investment amount was not disclosed, but both companies said the partnership will enable closer technical collaboration and faster information sharing, supporting Soratobu Taxi’s plan to launch eVTOL operations across Japan.
