Nigeria’s Crackdown on Binance: A $10 Billion Fine and Data Requests

Amid a more extensive crackdown, Nigeria is taking a tough stand against Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, by requesting user data on its top 100 local customers.

This action is being taken while the Nigerian government, which claims that Binance has severely damaged the local economy, is considering fining the company a whopping $10 billion.

With the arrest of two high-ranking executives from Binance and the exchange stopping naira transactions, the issue has become more heated, underscoring the mounting hostilities between national governments and international cryptocurrency platforms in the quickly changing world of virtual currencies. Apex Motion Control launches new collaborative robot

Apex Motion Control, a specialist in smart robotic and automation equipment, has released its latest product line – the Flexi-Bot and Flexi-Bot MAX.

These new collaborative robots (cobots) have been designed with the food, dairy, and pharmaceutical industries in mind, offering a user-friendly solution to ongoing labor shortages and the dull, dangerous, dirty, and repetitive tasks involved in industrial manufacturing.

ForwardX Robotics releases fully autonomous forklift

ForwardX Robotics, a global autonomous mobile robot (AMR) and warehouse solutions provider, introduces its latest autonomous forklift: Apex C1500-L.

The new forklift further enhances ForwardX’s capabilities in pallet movement workflows with a higher payload capacity and the ability to work with both GMA and Euro pallets.

ForwardX Robotics releases new fully autonomous forklift

Volvo invests in autonomous car software developer Apex

Volvo Group Venture Capital has invested in Apex.AI, a developer of software for autonomous cars and mobility.

Volvo says the investment will fund the development of a “safety-certified software framework for autonomous systems”.

Apex, a Palo Alto, California-based company founded in 2017, is building an automotive-grade version of Robot Operating System, an established open source software framework commonly used in robotics and autonomous systems research. Corindus instrument used in ‘world’s first’ remote-control robotic heart surgery

A surgical instrument developed by Corindus has been used in what is claimed to be the first remote-controlled heart operation using a robot.

Corindus published its “Telerobotic Intervention Study” in The Lancet, saying it is “the world’s first percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures conducted from a remote location outside the catheterization lab using Corindus’ CorPath technology platform”.

The paper Corindus published, titled Long Distance Telerobotic-Assisted Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: First-in-Human Experience, discusses five successful patient cases performed by internationally acclaimed physician Dr Tejas Patel, chairman and chief interventional cardiologist of the Apex Heart Institute in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Logistics trade event CeMAT Asia expecting ‘well over 100,000 attendees’

Deutsche Messe, organiser of the annual logistics trade event CeMAT Asia, says it is expecting well over 100,000 attendees this year.

The show is already regarded as Asia’s biggest intralogistics fair, and this year looks set to expand its lead, partly through co-location with Apex Asia as well as the launch of new showcase, Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Asia.

The 20th edition of CeMAT Asia will be staged at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, with a record number of exhibitors – more than 700 – presenting their products and solutions for sustainable and automated logistics systems. Universal and Apex set to launch collaborative robot-assisted palletising

Universal Robots and Apex Motion Control will launch the Zero Footprint Palletizer (ZFP) at the ATX West show in Anaheim, California, USA, this February. Collaborative robots – or cobots – can now automate some of the most common manufacturing tasks in the industry.

The ZFP is for mid-rate production at a maximum load of 18 lbs. The system can be deployed throughout a facility and fits right into existing packaging lines without modification, replacing manual palletizing operations in minutes.

Universal Robots’ UR10 cobot has been integrated with the ZFP, combining the full functionality of the robot with a vertical 7th axis swing system with the ability to stack on each side, supporting North American pallet sizing.
