Veho and RIVR partner to improve e-commerce delivery through AI-powered robots

Veho, the technology company that operates a parcel delivery platform in the US, and RIVR, a physical AI and robotics developer, have launched an initiative to improve e-commerce delivery experience and efficiency through the use of parcel delivery robots.

The deployment begins today in Austin, with plans to expand to additional markets later this year based upon learnings during the initial trial. The robots are not intended to replace human delivery drivers.

Donatos Pizza to open fully autonomous restaurant in partnership with Appetronix

Donatos Pizza, the premium pizza company famous for its edge to edge toppings, is opening its first fully autonomous pizza restaurant in June. 

Donatos and its sister company Agápe Automation partnered with Appetronix to bring the robot operated restaurant to life.

The new fully automated restaurant will debut before security in front of Concourse B at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport and will be operated by restaurateur HMS Host. NorDan becomes first timber products manufacturer to monitor tree health

NorDan, one of Europe’s leading timber composite window and door manufacturers, has become the first manufacturer in its sector to actively measure and monitor the health of the forests from which it sources its timber.

NorDan invited independent consultants Fortis Facades to analyse the Polish forests that are a vital part of its supply chain, checking important factors such as tree health, density and chronology of the trees, as well as the quality and yield of timber.

Humanoid robot combat tournament broadcast live on Chinese national TV

Organizers say the event kicks off a ‘new era in humanoid robot combat sports’

On May 25, 2025, at 8.30pm, the Unitree-sponsored CMG World Robot Tournament – Mecha Combat Arena, co-hosted by CMG’s Education & Science Channel, Zhejiang Station, and CMG’s Technology Bureau, was officially launched in Hangzhou. (See video below for extended highlights.)

As the world’s first combat competition exclusively featuring humanoid robots, the tournament showcased Unitree’s G1 humanoid robot as the sole competing model.

Honda expands capacity by adding new production line at motorcycle plant in India

Honda’s motorcycle production and sales subsidiary in India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), says it will build a fourth production line at its fourth plant – Vithalapur, Ahmedabad district, Gujarat.

Planned to begin operation in 2027, the new line will have an annual production capacity of 650,000 units, bringing the total capacity of the fourth plant to 2.61 million units, making it Honda’s largest assembly plant for Honda motorcycles in the world.

HMSI currently has four production plants in India with a total annual production capacity of 6.14 million units. In addition, the cumulative production volume reached 70 million units in April of this year, after 25 years since start of production in 2001. Suzuki lays foundation for new motorcycle plant in India

Suzuki’s motorcycle subsidiary in India, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) held the foundation stone laying ceremony on May 20 for its new motorcycle manufacturing plant to be constructed in Kharkhoda in the state of Haryana, India.

The ceremony took place at the planned site of the new factory in Kharkhoda. Attendees included Haryana State government officials, Kyoko Hokugo, minister, Embassy of Japan in India, Kenichi Umeda, managing director of SMIPL, and Takashi Ise, managing officer, executive general manager, motorcycle operations of Suzuki.

Since the start of production in 2006, SMIPL has manufactured approximately 9 million motorcycles cumulatively, supplying not only the Indian domestic market but also exporting to regions including Latin America, Japan, and Europe.
