UBQ Materials launches new ‘sustainable’ plastics range made from household waste

May 30, 2025 by Mai Tao

Materials science company UBQ Materials has launched UBQ Masterbatch – its new product portfolio that the company says is “set to transform manufacturing and supply chains” because the technology turns household waste into plastic.

As US landfills are projected to run out of capacity by 2036, UBQ Materials provides a solution to the looming waste crisis.

The patented process transforms mixed household waste – including organics and hard-to-recycle materials – into a plastic alternative used in a wide range of everyday goods, from flowerpots to building materials and beyond. How AI is Changing the Way We Test Software

May 30, 2025 by Mai Tao

Software testing is a critical phase in the SDLC cycle across any domain, especially in the robotics and automation industry to ensure the performance, quality, reliability and usability of the software.

Over time as these systems have become more sophisticated conventional testing strategies have failed to keep up. Despite automated scripts supplementing manual testing, the process is often time-intensive, inflexible and prone to human oversight.

This hurdle paved the way for Artificial Intelligence enabled software testing. The technology helps make the process more accurate, efficient and faster. The tech has proved its mettle and has gained rapid adoption across the world. [Read more…] about How AI is Changing the Way We Test Software

5 Ways Marketers Are Using AI to Automate Boring Research Tasks

May 29, 2025 by Mai Tao

Let’s be honest: when I first started in marketing, I thought I’d spend my days dreaming up clever campaigns and analyzing big wins. Instead, I found myself knee-deep in spreadsheets, copy-pasting competitor prices, and sorting through endless customer comments.

Turns out, I’m not alone – recent stats show the average marketer spends up to 6 hours a day on routine research tasks like tracking competitors, compiling feedback, and building lead lists. That’s a lot of time not spent on the creative, strategic work we actually signed up for.

But here’s the good news: AI tools for marketing teams are flipping the script. With 75 percent of marketers now using AI to cut down on manual tasks, and 88 percent relying on AI in their day-to-day roles, it’s clear that AI marketing automation isn’t just a trend – it’s the new normal. Comau designs and builds ‘cutting-edge’ automation technology for Li Auto factory

May 29, 2025 by Mai Tao

Industrial robotics specialist Comau has designed and developed what it describes as a “cutting-edge automation technology” for Li Auto’s next-generation range extender line, allowing the Chinese electric vehicle maker to reach an annual production capacity of up to 400,000 units.

(A range extender for an electric vehicle is a secondary power source, typically a small internal combustion engine, that acts as a generator to charge the EV’s main battery when it’s running low.)

The full-value-chain solution, which includes concept design, system simulation, assembly, and commissioning, highlights Comau’s ability to support the dynamic demands of the fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) market with innovative, high-performance manufacturing systems and enabling technologies.

The integrated automation solution, which covers the interior assembly line, exterior assembly line, cylinder head line, and piston-connecting rod line, has significantly enhanced reliability, operational efficiency and flexibility. Universal Robots offers new torque interface to empower research and innovation

May 29, 2025 by Mai Tao

Having the ability to directly control the torque of all the collaborative robot (cobot) joints opens vast opportunities for cobots to carry out demanding tasks.

But even for experienced cobot users and researchers, building your own software stack to enable this is both time consuming and challenging.

That’s why Universal Robots (UR) has developed a new low-level torque interface that gives access to control the target torque for all the joints of the UR cobot at 500 Hz. [Read more…] about Universal Robots offers new torque interface to empower research and innovation
