Wandelbots expands no-code solution to US with Yaskawa as early customer

February 3, 2023 by David Edwards

Wandelbots, the German-based no-code robotics software firm, recently opened a US headquarters in Chicago to expand its global operations and accelerate human-centered robotics solutions in the manufacturing industry.

Its signature software, Wandelbots Teaching, works the same with any robot, allowing users to control various models with no prior programming knowledge.

As the industrial robotics market continues to grow, developers and end users need an easy-to-use platform for robotic automation. [Read more…] about Wandelbots expands no-code solution to US with Yaskawa as early customer

Rapid Robotics and Universal Robots partner to fight labor shortages with fast collaborative robot installations

February 3, 2023 by David Edwards

Rapid Robotics has formed a new partnership with Universal Robots in which the Danish collaborative robot producer will be supplying collaborative robot arms for Rapid Robotics’ installation of cobot work cells across North America.

As a proven manufacturer of high-quality, versatile robots, Universal Robots will enable Rapid Robotics to serve a greater number of customers and maintain the rapid deployment times they’ve come to expect even as Rapid Robotics continues to expand its national footprint.

Jordan Kretchmer, CEO and co-founder of Rapid Robotics, says: “As the number of unfilled, critical manufacturing roles increases and global economic uncertainty continues to impact supply chains, more and more North American manufacturers are turning to automation. Cheesy technology: Sargento increases outbound fulfillment with Westfalia warehouse automation

February 2, 2023 by David Edwards

A Sharp History of Expertise: About the Customer

There’s a reason cheese heads live in Wisconsin, a state with a long, well-established history in the commercial cheese industry dating back to 1837.

In fact, there were over 2,800 cheese factories in the northern border state by the 1920s so, it’s no surprise that modern, high-quality cheeses originate there as well.

Sargento Foods founded in Plymouth, Wisconsin, in 1953, has grown into a powerhouse of cheese manufacturing and is a dominant brand across the United States. [Read more…] about Cheesy technology: Sargento increases outbound fulfillment with Westfalia warehouse automation

Skyline Robotics uses Kuka industrial robot to clean skyscraper windows

November 1, 2022 by David Edwards

Skyline Robotics says it has succeeded in automating window washing for the world’s skyscrapers – a task that has been done manually for over 100 years.

To automate the window-cleaning task, Skyline developed “Ozmo”, a system that combines an industrial robot, computerized vision system, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies.

What formerly required three to four months of manual labor, Ozmo does automatically in about half the time. But most importantly, the system ensures safety by removing human workers from the window washing platform or “basket”. Aerobotix partners with FerRobotics to develop ‘first-of-its-kind’ end-of-arm-tool automated sander for flammable dust

September 15, 2022 by David Edwards

Aerobotix and FerRobotics, two robotics companies based in the US and Austria respectively, have partnered to create what they say is the first Class II, Division 1 (C2D1) End of Arm Tool (EOAT) automated sander.

Meeting industry demand for a hazardous-environment solution that will achieve time and cost efficiencies, and enable much safer work environments, this special orbital sander – based on the industry-proven Active Orbital Kit (AOK) with patented Active Compliant Technology – lessens human involvement in hazardous tasks.

Each year, according to the International Labour Organization, tens of millions of workers globally are afflicted with silicosis, an incurable lung disease caused by crystalline silica dust inhalation, leading to thousands of deaths.
