Where Innovation Meets Imagination

Norway postal service hires robot to deliver letters

The Norwegian postal service. Posten-Norge, has hired a robot to deliver letters and parcels.

The company supplying the robot, Buddy Mobility, says: “Our robot provides Posten with operational cost savings to offset revenue losses from dramatically decreasing mail volumes.

“At the same time, the robot offers new revenue streams around package and parcel delivery.”

The robot is shown in the main picture and looks basically like a box with wheels. It’s somewhat similar to one being introduced by the German postal service, Deutsche Post, called PostBot.

Buddy Mobility is a startup company with an international group of designers, product developers, researchers, and engineers based in Oslo and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Posten-Norge is the company’s first client or partner.
