Flexiv partners with Kurabo to launch new industrial robot

Flexiv, a developer of general-purpose robotics solutions, has partnered with Kurabo, a Japanese pioneer in high-speed image processing and 3D measurement technology, to develop the “groundbreaking” Kuravizon adaptive robot.

Integrating Flexiv’s industry-leading force control technology with Kurabo’s advanced 3D vision sensing technology, Kurasense, the Kuravizon robot will be available for sale starting January 10th, 2025.

Segway showcases new robots to ‘revolutionise lawncare’

Nexcom showcases ‘next-gen’ autonomous mobile robot at CES

NexAIoT, a developer of AI-driven industrial automation technologies and a subsidiary of Nexcom International, is showcasing its second-generation autonomous mobile robot (AMR), the NexMOV-2.

The company says its new AMR represents “cutting-edge advancements in intelligent mobility and modular design”.

Roborock unveils robotic vacuum cleaner with arm at CES

Roborock, a provider of home robotics, used the ongoing CES event to launch the Saros Z70, which it describes as “the world’s first mass-produced robot vacuum cleaner equipped with an OmniGrip intelligent and foldable robotic arm”.

And at first glance, I thought, “Why didn’t I think of that? It’s a brilliant idea.”

Samsung Electronics becomes largest shareholder in Rainbow Robotics

Samsung Electronics has decided to become the largest shareholder in Rainbow Robotics to “accelerate future robot development such as humanoid robots”.

Rainbow Robotics is a startup that is developing and building a variety of robots – including collaborative robotic arms, quadruped or dog-like robots, and dual-armed humanoids – for the industrial sector.

Samsung first acquired a 14.7 per cent stake in the South Korean firm in 2023 with investment of KRW 86.8 billion (approximately $59 million), and is now exercising a call option to increase its stake to 35 per cent. Rainbow Robotics will also be incorporated as a subsidiary under Samsung Electronics’ consolidated financial statements.

Inside Yoke Industrial’s smart factory: 108 robotic arms and 71 automation systems working to enhance quality and efficiency

What’s described as a “bifocal modernisation strategy”, implemented in 2011, is ongoing at Yoke Industrial’s pioneering industrial lifting equipment manufacturing facility

Production at Taiwanese company Yoke Industrial Corp started in 1997.

A lot has changed since, as we’ll explore in this article. What hasn’t changed, however, is that there are long-term career opportunities in an ever-evolving manufacturing environment.

Yoke’s approximately 56,000 square-metre facility produces a staggering 20 million pieces per year. The smart factory is built on 71 automation systems with 108 robotic arms; it is an automated fleet of state-of-the-art Fanuc equipment, that represents around $30 million worth of investment. In October 2024, for example, the total time of robotics operation topped 5,176 hours. Skyline Robotics and Alimak partner to automate building maintenance for new construction sites globally

Skyline Robotics, a developer of window-cleaning robots for skyscrapers, and Alimak Group have reached a mutually exclusive agreement between the companies to create a “next-generation automated building maintenance unit” setting a new standard for architectural and asset management industries.

Alimak Group’s global expertise in vertical access solutions and Skyline’s deep tech and robotics expertise is a powerful combination in transforming the industry faced with increasingly complex design challenges, labor shortages and best practices.
