Siemens and Audi partner to implement ‘next level’ software-defined automation

Engineering giant Siemens and automotive company Audi say they are “revolutionizing manufacturing processes” with “next level” software-defined automation and artificial intelligence (AI).

The long-standing partnership is accelerating innovation for the automotive industry by focusing on integrating virtual and hardware controllers, enhancing safety functions, and streamlining production processes.

Audi has also implemented AI-driven automation for optical inspection based on the Siemens portfolio. The goal is to automate detection and removal of weld spatter on vehicle bodies using a customer-trained AI algorithm and high-resolution images. Square Robot makes further progress with its robotic tank inspection system

After much anticipation, Square Robot, a specialist in robotic tank inspections, has knocked down two more barriers for its onstream, robotic tank inspections.

The SR-3 submersible robot has formally received the NEC/CEC Class I Division 2 (C1D2) certification and Square Robot’s Side Launcher has received the NEC/CEC Class I Division 1 (C1D1) certification.

UVeye secures $191 million extra funding from investors including Toyota

UVeye, a developer of AI-driven vehicle inspection technology, has raised $191 million in additional funding, bringing total capital raised to date to $380.5 million.

This latest infusion, combining equity and debt, will fuel UVeye’s efforts to meet surging global demand for its innovative systems and solidify its position as the market leader in the industry as the company nears a million vehicles scanned every month.

The round was led by Woven Capital with participation from UMC Capital and MyBerg along with existing investors W.R. Berkley, Menora Mivtachim, and More Investment House for $41 million in equity financing; Trinity Capital structured the $150 million debt facility. Deep Robotics’ robot dog pioneers smart inspection in Singapore power cable tunnel

Deep Robotics, a Chinese developer of quadrupedal robotics, has crossed a major milestone with the deployment of its industrial-grade quadruped robot, the X30.

The robot, nicknamed “SPock” within Singapore’s SP Group, is now operational in the country’s extensive underground power transmission cable network, marking it the first Chinese quadruped robot to be deployed to an overseas power system.

The partnership with SP Group represents a critical step forward in Deep Robotics’ global expansion and demonstrates the growing importance of emerging technologies such as robotics and digitization in infrastructure maintenance. Fugro pioneers uncrewed subsea inspections in Brazil for Petrobras

Petrobras, a Brazilian multinational petroleum industry giant, has signed a 175-day addendum to Fugro’s current inspection, repair and maintenance services contract, performed by the Fugro Aquarius, to include fully remote subsea inspection surveys of shallow-water infrastructure in Brazil.

Work will begin in January, leveraging Fugro’s advanced Blue Essence uncrewed surface vessel (USV) and Blue Volta electric remotely operated vehicle (eROV) technology to enhance inspection safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

ANYbotics and Qatar’s West Bay Petroleum partner to develop industrial inspection solution
