Volkswagen orders ‘more than 700’ industrial robots from Kuka

Kuka, the industrial robotics and automation specialist, and Volkswagen, one of Germany’s largest automotive groups, have signed a framework agreement for the delivery of more than 700 robots this year and over the next two years.

The robot models, including the Kuka bestseller KR Quantec, will be installed at Volkswagen Navarra in Pamplona, Northern Spain. There they will be used in body-in-white production. One Equity Partners buys controlling stake in Comau

One Equity Partners, a middle market private equity firm, has signed a binding agreement to make a majority investment in Comau, a global technology company specializing in industrial automation and advanced robotics.

The spinoff of Comau is part of the strategic agreement set during the merger between former FCA and Groupe PSA in January 2021 that formed Stellantis.

Mytra unveils ‘breakthrough’ robotics and AI to transform warehouses and boost economic productivity

Mytra, the company supercharging industrial productivity with first-of-its-kind three-dimensional robotics, has launched with $78 million in total financing through the Series B stage and several commercial partners, including Albertsons Companies.

Founded by ex-Tesla and Rivian robotics and manufacturing leaders, the company will automate the most common industrial task: moving and storing material.

85 percent of global GDP is attributed to physical goods according to analysis from Eclipse, and more than half of all the work in making and delivering those goods to customers involves moving material. Service robots market growing ‘six times faster’ than industrial robots

The service robot market has undergone major changes over the past years. AI and machine learning enabled the development of machines capable of performing a variety of tasks with greater accuracy and efficiency than ever before.

As a result, the entire sector has skyrocketed, growing much faster than the industrial robot market.

According to data presented by Altindex.com, the service robots market is expected to grow by 66 percent and reach a value of $55 billion by 2028, showing six times bigger growth than the industrial robots segment.

Fives automates Carrefour’s order picking platform in Bourges
