Lhyfe and Masdar partner to develop ‘major green hydrogen production projects’

January 18, 2025 by David Edwards

Lhyfe, a pioneering producer and supplier of green and renewable hydrogen for mobility and industry, and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, also known as Masdar, the UAE’s clean energy leader, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential co-development opportunities in large-scale green hydrogen production projects in Europe.

The MoU was signed at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025 and is part of the strategy announced in 2024 by Lhyfe to co-develop projects with financial, industrial investors and experienced partners seeking to invest in green hydrogen production projects.

Through this strategic partnership, the two companies aim to explore collaboration and investment opportunities across the green hydrogen value chain, with a focus on co-developing large projects. [Read more…] about Lhyfe and Masdar partner to develop ‘major green hydrogen production projects’

Green movement creating new markets for automation sector

March 14, 2023 by Mark Allinson

It is no doubt necessary to achieve the CO2 reduction goals that the UN and numerous manufacturing companies have set for themselves. The implementation of measures is ambitious and expensive.

However, sustainability efforts also create entirely new markets, lead to attractive business models, and offer great opportunities for the key technology that is robotics and automation.

automatica, held in Munich from June 27 to 30, 2023, presents the opportunities of sustainable production. [Read more…] about Green movement creating new markets for automation sector

Unigel installs first industrial-scale green hydrogen production site in Brazil using ThyssenKrupp technology

September 1, 2022 by David Edwards

Unigel has built the first industrial-scale green hydrogen plant in Brazil.

The company, which is one of the largest chemical companies in Latin America and the largest manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizers in Brazil, has invested a total of $120 million in the development of the production site for green hydrogen.

In the first phase of the project, Unigel installed three 20 MW standard electrolyzers from ThyssenKrupp Nucera, adding up to a total capacity of 60 MW. The plant will feed one of the largest green ammonia plants by capacity when it starts its production. 5 Benefits of Green Alternatives to Fossil Fuel Generators

May 2, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Having a backup power source for your home during power outages or long road trips is essential for keeping you safe and connected.

And while generators have long relied on gas and fuel, there’s no reason to keep using generators that rely on harmful toxic fossil fuels.

That’s especially true when you get more from one that uses greener alternative energy sources. [Read more…] about 5 Benefits of Green Alternatives to Fossil Fuel Generators

T-Mobile to implement 5G smart city infrastructure in Peachtree Corners

March 3, 2022 by David Edwards

Peachtree Corners, which claims to be one of the nation’s “first smart city environments powered by real-world connected infrastructure and 5G”, says that T-Mobile, Applied Information and Temple are introducing 5G-connected vehicle technology that enables traffic signals to communicate with any vehicle on the road via a revolutionary mobile app.

Brian Johnson, city manager of Peachtree Corners, says: “As another strong reflection of Peachtree Corners’ leadership as an innovative smart city in the United States, we’re excited to offer smart connected infrastructure relevant to our citizens, city employees and visitors by enabling any vehicle to receive communications from 5G-connected traffic signals.

“Cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) technology isn’t just a concept here, it’s a reality that all people can experience just by downloading an app on their smartphones. [Read more…] about T-Mobile to implement 5G smart city infrastructure in Peachtree Corners

Continental claims all its production runs on ‘100 percent green electricity’

February 14, 2022 by David Edwards

Continental, one of the world’s largest suppliers of vehicle tyres and automotive components and systems, claims that all of its production has been running on “100 percent green electricity’ for the past couple of years at least.

Continental claims to have been procuring all of the electricity for its production sites from renewable energy sources as of fiscal 2020. The company says this is the “clear conclusion” reached in a report by auditor KPMG.

By purchasing approximately 4 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of green energy, Continental reduced its own direct and indirect global CO2 emissions by 70 percent from around 3.2 million metric tons in 2019 to 0.99 million metric tons in 2020. Robot displays ‘glimmer of empathy’ to partner robot

January 15, 2021 by Sam Francis

Columbia University engineers say they have created a robot that learns to visually predict how its partner robot will behave, displaying a glimmer of empathy. This “Robot Theory of Mind” could help robots get along with other robots – and humans – more intuitively.

Like a longtime couple who can predict each other’s every move, a Columbia Engineering robot has learned to predict its partner robot’s future actions and goals based on just a few initial video frames.

When two primates are cooped up together for a long time, we quickly learn to predict the near-term actions of our roommates, co-workers or family members. Our ability to anticipate the actions of others makes it easier for us to successfully live and work together. [Read more…] about Robot displays ‘glimmer of empathy’ to partner robot
